Music-ing with Edison
Hey all! I don't think it's worth making a new thread to mention this, and it may have been mentioned before, but I noticed a nice way to easily put down notes without ever playing them (or even clicking to add them) in FL studio.
Step 1: Add Edison to a mixer channel.
Step 2: Connect any recording device (regardless of quality) and run it into the mixer track with Edison so you can record with it.
Step 3: Just record yourself humming or singing any melody you want into Edison. It doesn't matter if you can't sing, as long as your in the ball-park-ish you're fine.
Step 4: This is where the magic happens. Right-click the waveform in Edison, click "Tools", and then click "Convert to score and dump to piano roll".
Step 5: Clean up any slightly off pitches from your lack of singing ability.
Step 6: ?????????????
Step 7: Profit.
I'm sure all the old dogs know this, but maybe some mid level and lower level FL will find it this useful - I know a lot of times I'll think of a melody but kind of lose it when I try to put down into the piano roll due to the time it takes or my constant not-getting-the-right-pitch-when-adding-a-note-due-to-lack-o f-good-relative-pitch-skills syndrome. Also this would also make it easy to do cool auto-tune or vocoder effects or whatever other creative uses you can think of.
Anyway, just popping in and giving my two cents :D
