Seriously thinking of saving up for Cubase and saying goodbye to FL Studio. The Fruity Video Player is just far too much of a pain for scoring and sound for picture. Half the time the video isn't locked into time correctly, tempo changes throw off the sync entirely, and there's so many audio export glitches! Who can I punch for designing such a stupid plugin?

psvils yes you get blasted with colour atm. However there will be options for simplification. For example you will have the ability to upload whatever background you want. So hell you could upload just plain black if you wanted, or a more subdued picture. We will also have the ability to strip all colour from the chat, or just make the names coloured. The point atm is to demo what the chat can actually PROVIDE the users :)

as for how many people could visit it? Roughly 2 million people view the flash portal a day, so even if you took 1% of that, that's what, 10,000 views a day?maybe 100 or 200 people visit a day from that? For irc that's still a good amt of people, considering we average 8-16 people in there currently, with it swelling to nearly 30 on special occasions.

Your constructive criticism is appreciated psvils because it fuels discussion, just a little more optimism might be warrented - we ARE doing this during our free time after all. We are also catering mainly to CHILDREN - adults take up a small percentage of this site - that's just a simple reality of life - and they want a shitload of stuff, and lots and lots of colours. Our biggest nail in our coffin has been that radiochat could provide its users with custom text colours, while the webclient of irc, couldn't, and the interfaces of mirc and xchat could but you had to add a tag for each line and it's frustrating.

So yes we will provide all the colour blasting, but also the simplicity. One will be able to change text colour, font, and eventually will even be able to design their own interfaces and upload them to a server where we will handpick which ones become available as options- all will be loaded onto a server -0 so flash will simply be calling everything externally. Thus the chat will still work fast, because itll kinda barely have anything on it - just graphics coded to call info from the server and other parts of the site :)

eh.. we are realizing with the chat that we wont be able to load all flashes into the chat interface - apparently certain _root triggerings will affect the flash, as well as vcam, something used by animators, will also interfere if the size of the chat doesnt exactly match the flash.

So we may have to load those to a table as users provide them or something. Or just have them all just open the flash in the page that flash provided in a new window. Oh well. We just can't fix those issues on our end.

Drop gated reverb on snares and over compress kicks? It shouldn't be too tough to shape pre-existing drums into what has the familiar/commercial dubstep quality/punch. Layering samples is your friend.

Fair bit yea, it has a lot of graveyard play which has the added benefit of giving a decent sum of virtual card advantage. I don't think anyone flocked to a 100% Innistrad deck or anything though. One guy did and he didn't do well (think he won some rounds, but no sets).

My friends who are getting into magic are really pulling me in, I'm not terribly competitive, but I'm good at playing meta so its really engaging me. :P Good thing I'm doing that instead of studying for exams, right?

Im on a tight budget so I was looking at some lower-end Casios, I came across the 150 (costed around 517$) and I fell in love with it, but to my dismay, there was something wrong with the keys.
They had a Privia (about 600$) in store so the guy who worked there proposed for me to buy that one, its just out of my price range, but he agreed to set the price down to the 150s level.

SO, for christmas, im getting me a Privia :)

so I had to deal with my first case of a user having a lack of humanity - posting stuff about people getting eaten alive and laughing about it and thinking it's funny. Never felt such a sickening feeling towards a human being before in my life.
