Happy Hardcore is Hard

I wanna try something different from my usual gloomy type music... so I decided to try Happy Hardcore. Problem is, I'm so used to writing gloomy music that when I try to play a "bubblegum" or "upbeat" melody... I end up using minor scales and it starts sounding more like melodic trance.

I've even stooped as low as bombarding myself with happy hardcore music (Even Nightcore, I know, I disgust myself too) just to try get an idea of how I should format a melody for this song.

But after hours and hours of inspiration hunting, I've only managed to come up with a few bars of 170 BPM 4 to the floor kicks and a bass line octave jumping a single note.

Happy music is hard.

You can still easily use a minor scale in happy hardcore if you use the dominant 7th. Case in point!

Ohhh Sequenced - your relationship mishaps are as entertaining as listening to Z3NON or OCON hahahahaha..

remember they're like cats.. they like you as long as you give them what you want - screw your own needs- theirs come first :P

I'm tinkering with something called a boyfriend.. they're less maintenance.. like cactuses.

I'm not saying I can't be myself. I'm saying it takes a lot of time tO get to that point in a relationship. I fart and act like am idiot in front of my girlfriend. The same way I'd act in front of my friends.

Sure it was rough for a little. But I'd say my gf and I have gotten to the point where were each others best friends. I think that's how a relationship should be. If it gets to the point where you can't say what's on your mind and you're acting differntly just for her. It's not worth it.

I mean don't get me wrong. I totallychanged my habits. Like smoking which was a good thing. But we still haven't agreed about the xbox yet haha.

me and my beau had an argument a few days ago.. well.. a disagreement,... about family values.. I like to talk to my folks.. every now and then.. he talks to them like twice a day.. he couldn't understand how family couldn't mean more to me.. but for me.. I know they're there.. I don't need to talk to them every day - I like to be self-sufficient. We see each other on holidays and birthdays and ever now and then in between.. and I'm happy with that.

I agree with you chron. My gf is super close with her family and talks to them a lot. I'm the complete opposite. When I see them I see them and when I talk to them I talk to them. My gf can't grasp the concept.

I'm glad to see others are the same way. I've always been a tad distant.. it was nice that they were there but I didn't feel lost if they weren't.

I'm sure one day I'll get enough interest in another person that I'll feel comfortable dating them, but as of right now I simply don't know anyone that fits that bill.

I quit dating for the same reason, saying goodbye all those times made me feel like an asshole.
I havent been with anyone for about a year, so I think its about time I started meeting people.

That'd be cheating though, I'll never learn if I don't force myself to use something I wouldn't normally use.

Well, isn't this a coincidence.
After i made this post, a girl whom i have liked for a long time (haven't seen her for quite a while now though) confessed that she has liked me for a long time too.. and that she still has a weakness for me.
And now she's coming over next week :3
However.. she has a boyfriend (who she is doubting to break up with).
Sigh..

Do you recall a post i made about me wanting to hide a guitar outside and take a nightly walk with a girl towards the spot where i hid the guitar, grab it and play/sing for her?
Well, if you do (it's quite a while ago, but i remember that you responded to it).. this is about the same girl :$

I do remember you talking about it, I don't remember how it played out though... cause I have the memory of a goldfish.

Either way, my advice is don't do the love triangle thing, it never ends well. For your sanity, make sure she's single before you try making a relationship go anywhere. And don't let her play with you if she's not willing to break up with her boyfriend.

That you remember it proves otherwise :p
And it didn't play out, because it didn't happen.

Of course i will and

And don't let her play with you if she's not willing to break up with her boyfriend.

Of course i won't.
I'll just see how things go when i see her again and what feelings there are still left.
After that, i'll see what the best thing to do is.
But no, i could never live with myself if i let her cheat on her boyfriend.

It's pretty damn legit. Sequencing is a bit of a pain, but otherwise its definitely a gem.

This is why you should just bookmark the AF. The other forums are full of child molestors and the NG news shows on the AF anyways. Or better yet, just bookmark the AP front page cuz theres an AF link there anyways.
