It's a university class who uploaded their shit on NG to be reviewed. It's their first time using flash, so cut them some slack :( some of the stuff is actually pretty good!

During my band class in school today I found out my tuning note is G not G#. Everybody in my section told me it was G#. I also moved the neck of my instrument around which improved my tune from somewhat flat to just on the edge of perfect.

Little things like that improves your sound greatly dude..

Speaking of band, our school's ensemble absolutely SUCKED today. Nobody ever practices anymore, and I don't know why (except for the GOOD musicians). YOU JOINED AN OPTIONAL COURSE. IF YOU LIKE TO PLAY YOUR INSTRUMENT, PRACTICE IT.

It's gotten to the point where I'm actually considering to drop Band second semester. It's that bad. Our teacher took his anger out on me because I forgot to hand in one of the songs he took out because we couldn't play it, and I never get in trouble with him or in his class and I practice everyday. It was actually kind of hurtful.

GAWD.

Ha, you wish. I have a similar situation with a few other assignments...I get pissed at myself every day around 6pm when I realize I haven't done shit.

Also, last night started making a track, was all into it, and then someone calls asking if I want to go out for a bit, nearly ruining my flow (I managed to get back really quickly after a beer and a few smokes)...I hate it SOOO much when you feel your brain on fire, it's like liquid, and it's power-sequencing away in the piano roll, and then someone calls you, and invites you somewhere...gah.

I merrily finished my track, and now it's all about editing minor things and spicing places up, weeeee

Speaking of bands, I finally joined one. I play the bass there. Only problem is - almost all of the songs they want to cover is Linkin Park, which is almost okay with me, but they picked 4 of them and a Three Days Grace song.

I was a bit disappointed by the choice. But the keyboard player didn't come to the band rehearsal, so I worked with the drummer and guitarist. First the drummer improvised a beat for the Bus Theme from Earthbound, I knew the bassline pretty well. Later we just improvised and got to know each other musically, and after that played some Smells Like Teen Spirit

We didn't rehearse any songs they chose because all of them have the piano. So yeah, I'll bring some songs to the next rehearsal, to spice things up

Alcohol and costumes? No, thank you. People might think I'm boring or crazy... but hey, they thought the same about Beethoven back in his day.

Except that Beethoven actually was kinda crazy. Undeniably brilliant, but crazy.

Just make a phone call for those guys in white clothes. They'll have a nice tight comfortable jacket, that's straight, waiting for you. Then they'll take you to this lovely place where you can be among your peers and get a nice little room with soft walls.

Turn yourself in. Log-off and wait for the authorities.

I made a topic in where is/how to but I'm not getting the answer I need. If I make a song in Garage band in the songwriting part of it can I upload it to the audio portal?

Thankfully my condition is controllable and I don't need that kind of intervention.

don't mean to sound like a dick, but try reading the rules. they aren't vague or confusing.

I read a post of Denvish's and I guess the only things I can upload here from GarageVan are recordings of stuff I've played. Someone tell me if I'm right.

that's basically correct. the main thing is do NOT use pre-made loops or samples from other songs or movies or anything you haven't made. everything you use must be created by YOU.

^Fixed. Since some virtual instruments use samples of individual sounds. If we weren't allowed to use those, then we'd have to remove the entire classical section of newgrounds lol

lol nah it's alright, it's just good to specify since some (not all) people might think that that would eliminate those single sound samples, especially in the drums/percussion area

So I was given a group to make a film with in my Film as Lit class...and the asigned people to be writers are coming up with super cliche ideas (mostly zombie/horror ideas). How do I tell them that it's a stupid idea that we dont have the time or money or resources to do without sounding a prick whos trying to take over a class project?

The exact same thing you just said, except for the ''stupid idea'' part. You're just giving reasonable arguments why it's hard, if not impossible, to realise their ideas, and you're not sounding like a dick :P.

"Im sorry, but... exactly how are we going to do it with the amount of time and resources on hand? im not saying its a bad idea (just lie), but i dont think we can pull it off... how about something a bit easier like: (Reasonable altenatie here)".
That should cut it if you expand on it.
