Sup guys.
Long story short, I want to start taking music production more seriously. I want to know more about what I'm doing, and how to take advantage of a broader range of knowledge when it comes to making a track. Do you guys know of any good places to start? Any good books to read, etc? I'm not a complete novice, but my tracks aren't up to the standard I think they could be at, and I really don't think I should be having such a hard time getting an idea from my head to the DAW. Any advice is appreciated, thanks in advance.

I did some research on that amp, i had neighbor in this dorm I used to live in that had that amp, it sound fine clean, but the distortion on that thing is way too high pitched and screaming.
The guy had a custom gibson that he played through that thing, what a waste of money that was...

Don't ask for a genral solution for "how do I make better music". Focus on one of your problems at a time: look up some music theory if you need to brush up on that, look up mixing tutorials if thats your problem etc

Ok, new topic.

Permanent aroma something products
I bought a used Jazz bass some time ago, only problem is that the hardcase smells like stale air. One of my other cases smell like sweet, sweet vanilla and another smells like new car, so I want my bass case to smell nice too. Maybe something fruity. What kind of product do I use to add a permanent smell to the case (without it smearing the guitar)? I've tried air freshener and perfume but it didn't last very long.

Get one of those little tree car fresheners, they come in many smells.

Tree car fresheners. Is that made to make a tree smell like car, or is it to freshen a car made of tree?

I wasn't clear enough for the down syndrome patients in the crowd apparently.

You shouldn't use that illness as a way to swear at people (not that I'm offended or anything, I just don't like it).

It's also refereed to as 'prince charming's disease' given the individuals with it tend to be in a good mood near always.

Lol oh you guys..

I agree with Jarrydn, if people find that harsh then they haven't lived on the internet.

And yeah I should learn to compromise - the problem with developing an iron will is you tend to lose the focus that other people exist around you.

Now lets all hug and make up and return to how we are were like 5 years ago when shit was fun and we all loved each other still :P

Ftuff a bunch of news papers in there for a weekend, that should help.. After that, lightly spray the inside with febreze.

Put some baking soda around the bass. Preferably inside as well, as long as that won't damage it. Should clear up the smell pretty quickly.

Advertising fail.

Anyone notice these ads on Facebook? Obviously a clear disconnect between the idiots in charge and the subject material. (That's the needle on a vinyl turntable about to come down on top of a CD disc)

Of course, a "DJ Degree" from Degree America or whatever would probably only be useful to wipe your ass with... because it sure as hell isn't going to get you any gigs.

Yeeessss. Lol.

Now, admittedly it would be pretty cool if someone figured out how to mount one of the bigass laser discs they used to use for video (seems like primarily in schools)... on a turntable type interface (obviously with a laser instead of a needle) and used that instead for DJing.

you don't find it weird at all that I only got some 60 plays, but over 1k views on the profile? Usually you would get more plays than profile views

Argh, I tend to visit Newgrounds less and less. The school and other things are just taking away all of my free time.

Band Thingy

My friend found a drummer and a keyboard player at the uni he attends to. We gathered together and shit got real. Sadly I can join them during the weekends only, while they can stay at the uni and jam after they finish their lessons. So I am kind of an outsider in the band.

Feels like shit lol
