Fuck dubstep, uppermost has my favorite "violent" edm out there.

I like French house, don't get me wrong, but I feel like currently it's dangerously close to becoming one of those genres that is so specific in the way it sounds that it will become difficult to be original. Like the current band of "Trance" music is.

In this thread we mentioned Madeon, Daft punk, uppermost, and breakbot. Breakbot and daft punk are the only two that are remotely similair (and one is recording based while the other is sample based).

Well... umm... if no one had told me the artist name, I probably would have assumed this WAS Justice. This song sounds is pretty much in the exact same style. Distorted bass, heavily compressed, lots of slicing and editing... I would pretty much call that "French electro house in a nutshell"

It sounds good. that's all that matters to me :D

Indeed. I've been enjoying a lot of different genres lately too, actually. several years ago I was restricted to dance music because I was so addicted to it, now I'm listening to everything from Math Metal to hiphop. (not to be confused with rap obviously)

Ambient and Neurofunk will still be my favourite two genres though :3

Yeah, me too. Seems like whenever I make something downtempo or ambient everyone loves it, whereas my more upbeat and "dirty" songs don't do as much damage to my incredibly small fanbase :P

So, I just upgraded the graphics card in my computer.... to have another one of my sticks of RAM die. I'm down to 4G of RAM now, which is barely enough to run Vista, let alone write music.

Also, 4 GB of RAM barely runs Vista... what?! Upgrade to Windows 7, man. I'm running Windows 7 with 4 GB (32-bit so not even 4 gig is utilized), and mine works bloody fine.

Well, I'm blaming Crucial... Both of the crucial brand sticks I had are now dead after only about 2 years of use... So go ahead and use them.

I did just order another 2 2G sticks of RAM from Newegg though, which will put me above where I was before (6G) at 8G, figure if I have to replace them anyways, I may as well upgrade at the same time.
