Also for me it was once again code I was looking at rather than composition.

That thread is rather old, I'm not gonna bump it. I'll just post mine below. It's an entry for a remix contest.

Some nice, colour-coded goodness.

Also the plugin itself takes up RAM so its adding that too.

ALSO--I'm not jelly I can open about that much before it starts crapping up too. However I usually load a full instrument not just one articulation.

New solution is to use soundfonts until the piece is done then replace with play and export one instrument at a time.

Posting Production Pix in the Wrong Thread

I know you all want people to think your penises are bigger because you have lots of patterns and automations in your FLS files, but it really just shows me that you are all sloppy in your productions haha.

L2 title your channels/mixer tracks/tracks and stuff.

The only time I title stuff is when I'm sharing the project with others or taking screenshots. Like now!

This is about as complicated as my projects get, usually. I stack patterns into tracks and often put automation into tracks used for other stuff because it doesn't bother me much and fuck scrolling down lol

Yeah but its mostly the management of samples that takes up the CPU space

ALSO--I'm not jelly I can open about that much before it starts crapping up too.

I've never actually tested how much I can go before my CPU explodes. Not about to test it soon either...

Same here :3

A good point, but personally I find it easier to work with the real thing other than soundfonts. That's probably just me though...

Bollocks- it lets you share a glimpse of how you work with music. It's a perfectly good thread.

Showing a picture of 500 random clips and a kajillion random vsts doesn't really tell people how I work though. Neither would pretty colors or cute names on everything.

Anyway I'm not looking to argue, I just find that stuff pretty pointless.

Studio pictures on the other hand are quite interesting.

I agree - half the time you can't show everything you've used in the song anyways and it's just one giant jumble.

also on the subject of soundfonts - I still like to use them on occasion but only to make my higher quality instruments sound more fleshed out.

I disagree with the previous two posts. While studio pics are interesting and cute they tell you nothing then other how clean of a person the artist is. Besides, the only thing my current workstation can afford is a mac book and booze. Pretty disgusting.

My DAW space on the other hand is a far more interesting story. It's fun to see how other people work differently in the environment you're so familiar with. Seeing EVERYTHING isn't the point. Even seeing just a tad of a persons work flow can be fun. What effects do they whore? Which synths do they prefer? Do they name their channels or do they just sloppily go about their workspace like a meth junkie? You can learn a lot about a person from their electronic workspace. My opinion is that being able to do so is a sign that you know you're DAW inside and out/ are old enough to laugh at someone for unscrewing all their subtractor patches :p

re: OGM USE TEH OTHER FRED FOR POSTING PICS

most of the time itt we're just shooting the shit and could do that in any number of threads in the general forum. why use this thread for any discussion at all? because it's current. topics are transient and constantly subject to change, and the topic happened to make posting working space pictures pertinent!
