Jersey Shore
I have a friend that idolizes that show. He genuinely looks up to those people. I don't have the heart to tell him how little I think of this fetish but maybe one day he'll grow out of it. As for the show itself, I've watched a few episodes and found it genuinely entertaining. Sure the show is stupid. Sure the people on the show are stupid. Sure the people that look up to those characters are stupid. Thing is, it's that stupidity that makes the show fun to watch. It's like watching spongebob and every one is patrick.
i can't stand to watch jersey shore - as this city is like gino gentral. Gino is what this city calls guitos, or guidettes. As a result I don't need to be reminded of something that plagued me ever since I was a kid.

Changing the Topic because Sickness is ensuing :P
Barbara Streisand
That song, if you can call it that, by Duck Sauce. Is it really that good to play it continuously on the radio? It's really repetitive and Unoriginal, frankly, I hate it :P

Agreed. Thankfully, we have less repetitive remixes.

Ridiculous stupid music being popular
We could probably bring up tons of examples stupid tracks that are popular. Then again it's quite a subjective thing.
I don't understand how this ever got so popular, for instance.

It may be an incredibly simple song and stuff, but when you're not actively listening it's a really nice song. And it reminds me of the summer, when i would watch football matches from the World Cup on a huge screen in the city. They played that song pretty often before and after the match.

I have to admit I kinda like it, as well. It isn't the kind of music I'd voluntarily play at home, but as far as dumb clubbing move-around songs go, it's ok. Actually, I think it's one of the songs of the last summer that I'll actually remember for a while. Not really sure why.
All I hear in that track is some dumb vocals and stupid riff.
FairSquare: I suppose that when you have something good to connect to it (like you), it can make you remember fun things, but I really don't feel why the song on its own would be enjoyable. Again, just my personal opinion. :p

I don't think the point is it being that enjoyable, but the "stupid riff" having that Ohrwurm factor: it's simple, catchy, and easily recognizable, even if you only heard it once.
