New Year's Resolution

I've got several for this year.

1. Get a new job
2. Slow down my drinking
3. Write more than 3 songs
4. Eat more healthy
5. Start a successful band (aka, one that lasts longer than 2 months)
*Also just to make sure that as little as possible goes wrong in 2011.

New Years Resolution

- Make my own record label
- Make my own sample producing company
- Get 3 times a month on tv with my bands
- Practice at least 3 hours daily each instrument I play
- Make money
- Go visit mom back home
- Make enough money to afford the gear I want
....... there is more but the rest is a bit boring (as if this wasn't).

Some pretty steep goals, but I wish you the best of luck. And it's really cool you threw mom in there; always gotta remember where you came from. Haha
If I ever strike it big with any of this music stuff, I'm definitely gonna make sure she's well off.

The start of a new year is a good time to reflect the year that just went by.
And when you reflect things, you think of things that you did good but also the things that you could've done better. The things that could be improved, are your new year's resolutions.

Of course, it's just a date and everything, but it does hand you the opportunity to set new goals for yourself. And after a year, you can reflect again and see if you reached your goals.

My new year's resolutions:
- Do more social stuff.
- Graduate. Somehow.
- Break my habit of oversleeping.
- Stop being such a lazy ass, don't forget so much things, don't procrastinate everything.
- Get a job.
- Join a football club.

MACs

so I have gotten permission from Tom to rehold the monthly macs - the prizes will be as follows,

weekly feature
1st place:
$50.00 store credit
2nd Place: $40.00 store credit
3rd Place: $30.00 store credit

january's MAC is already in the works - we are working on judges - as a rule I will be spearheading the new macs and delegating responsibilities to other users if they have plans for a specific mac and all - I think there used to be a mac discussion thread - if so I will be dredging that back up.

Also unless stated I will be a judge in every mac - unless say it's for a dubstep mac or something like that in which case I will delegate another person to judge it. The key here is to only have consistant dedicated judges. Andy aka brokendeck has also volunteered to be a consistant judge.

this month's upcoming MAC contest will also contain other high-brow judges.

it will be up to you audio mods to weekly feature the users though since tom stated that that is your responsibility not his.

also that prize will be consistant for every single month. If we want to include something different it will be mentioned. If you have other recommendations ask me and I will send them on to tom for approval.

the problem with previous macs was they were not streamlined - the responsibility was sort of passed on from audio mod to audio mod, and there were delays with judges, and so on and so forth. Personally I hate entering contests, as it forces me to participate when I may not be at my creative best, so since I am always here, without any disruptions of school or homework, I felt that I could give the MACS the most stability. That and having a fairly good grasp on reviewing submissions :)

if any of you guys have any beefs let me know.

Urgh, I have a beef.

Updating the weekly picks does not mesh well with my new years resolution of smoking shitloads of weed.

Because everyone fails at their new years resolutions, so it's not such a big deal. Then you can put off improving until next year, leaving you free and completely justified in being a lazy, selfish asshole.

I'm not saying one should postpone bettering themselves 'till the end of the year.
My point is that it forces you to think about things you want to change about yourself. A lot of people avoid doing that and just accept how things are and which life they are leading.
But when the old year makes places for the new one, people ask each other: ''Do you have any new year's resolutions?'' and that question is likely to make you think about your life and if you are satisfied with it. And what you want to change to make it better.
Take the time to reflect and really think.

If you do that anyway, that's good. But there are a lot of people who don't and new year's resolutions can trigger you to stand still and reflect.

also that applies to all audio contests - if your audio contest isnt locked by rucklo and you wanna actually give out prizes, and audio front page weekly feature, then let me know and I'll run it by tom. I realize some of you just might wanna have little "for fun" audio competitions so that will eliminate any need for every single audio contest to have to be a serious thing :)

Fast Food

How often do you guys eat it?
It's so delicious, I'd be lying if I said I didn't have at least a cheeseburger or something every day. Somehow I'm not really big from it, though I'm sure with this kind of diet, I'll be dead by 30. Still, what are your thoughts?

I have fast food probably once a week roughly, and I want to eat less of it. It isn't cost effective or healthy, nor any tastier then good home cooking. The convenience is the soul draw for me, and I bend to that.

Personally i try to stay away from fast food for the obvious reasons. But i do eat it when its appropriate like when im on the road at a rest stop or if im starving and only have 3 bucks and i happen to be near a fast food place with a dollar menu. but on average i eat fast food maybe once every 3 or 4 months

You guys are lucky you have the willpower. I sound like a real fatass, but yeah. Sometimes I'm just really bored, so I think, "Hey, let's get a snack." And they opened some 24 hour places near my house which really doesn't help at 3 AM.

Depression sucks

Just had something trigger a depressive mood swing. Right now currently trying to avoid things that could cause me to relapse into another suicide attempt.

Fast Food

I just finished 22 honey bbq boneless chicken chunks dipped in a low fat buttermilk ranch sauce. Was delicious.

maybe you need a psychiatrist and possibly medication dude. Its not healthy or normal to be that depressed. Maybe you should go for a long walk. That usually puts me in a better mood if im feeling pissed off or depressed.

I barely ever eat fast food as well - which makes eatign very difficult when I visit the states, and everything around me is bad for me. The concept that if you're skinny you don't need to worry about what you eat is bullshit - you still have to worry about avoiding high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Aaaand I just got my bloodtests back from the doctors and all my levels are good - I'm happy :)

I can try not to all I want but the problem is its just too damn convenient for me to actually make the break from it. Even if I manage not to eat fast food all day, I'll still go to a fast food place and pick up a dessert like a shake or a pie.

Maybe I should turn going less into my 2nd resolution. : /
