Same here. His music is good too, but as long as you go around boasting about how awesome you are, or how you've been compared to Bach, or etc.... People are going to hate you, no matter how good your stuff is.

I'm sure everyone who does art goes through a phase where they think that what they are doing is awesome, and don't understand why other people can't get as crazy about it as them. I have nothing but sympathy.

In the end, you just have to stop giving a fuck.

Oh, and Newgrounds IS a terrible place to promote music. In fact, just about any website alone is. Really, until you concentrate most of your energy on playing live shows, I don't think you are likely to get anywhere as a composer.

I don't post things here because I expect it to get me anywhere, or even give me some decent feedback. I post things here, despite the fact that Newgrounds is basically a breeding ground for people who make electronica music that I find banal, insipid, and uninspiring because I've loved Newgrounds since I was a wee lad.

I never understood how someone who has access to equipment that allows them to do things never before possible with music can be content making straight 4/4 oonst oonst dance music. Then again, who am I to talk, I've got a lot of blues submissions, and one could argue about how that has been played to death.

Pretentiousness is always shot down with deeper thought, I say.

Actually, it's not that bad. I mean, once you get a bit involved in it, it is quite addicting.
Also, you have to have the ability to laugh at stupidity and sillyness.

We are taking our singing/sightsinging final in Aural Skills 1 today...and we have to sing a piece by Brahms from this book, and its written in alto clef...not to mention its in a harmonic minor scale.
