You know, there's something that I've been wondering.

Weekly Top

In terms of how the system decides who is on the top for the week's reset, does it set the list by the score on Tuesday, or does it recalculate and then set it.

It sets the list by the scores at Tuesday 11:59:59 PM, I suppose. I'm not sure what you mean by recalculate.

I mean the Score/Popularity Rank. Say, if a song you have is rank #1 today, does it use the score for today as tomorrow's Top 5 and #1 song, or does it recalculate it's rank with the current score, say dropping it to #25, and placing it at 25 instead of 1.

If I understand you correctly then yeah, it'll go by the current score. I think the system refreshes the song's rank at midnight, every 24 hours.

Recent Movies

I saw Paranormal Activities (2) today, thought it was pretty rudimentary in the devices it uses. Effective physically, my body reacted to the suspense and all, but consiously it was laughable. Anyone else feel this way?

I thought the sound use was pretty neat, threshold of feeling in the bass got used alot to compliment the rise of suspense at night in a manner that began to condition the viewer. White noise and sound masking was used to to gradually increase an ambient level of noise, then drop out to make things seem even more quiet then before. Then thwack you with noise to literally punch your body with a wave of sound.

Interesting sonically, if anyone's going to see it, pay attention to when what noises play. :)

I've also seen The Martyrs (lol yucky), Riddles of the Sphinx (yay old plotless feminism), Jyndabyne (yay fishing), and like 8million other things. I recomend Let the Right One in (swedish original), and The Limey (neat action/drama).

I just finally registered for my classes....but now comes my big problem. Financial Aid. I filled out my FAFSA and received a whopping $0.00

What makes it worse is noone believes me when I tell them I received absolutely $0. I don't know how I'm gonna pay for school, my single parent doesn't make nearly enough to send me off to school. If I don't go to school, that means I gotta start working full-time, which means my chance at a career in music plummets.

Fuck, I wished I pulled my shit together in school.

Do your parents qualify for a pell grant? Have you applied for every scholarship you can find? Have you looked into stafford (subsidized) loans? Have you looked into private (unsubsidized) loans?

There's money out there, some of it's more ideal than the rest but ultimately it's out there.

euh.. she's good for 12 years old I'll grant her that - and she can play the notes - but her rendition just lacks the soul and passion that andy's does - she's not hitting the strings hard enough.. nor is she thumping the body of the guitar hard enough -she's simply playing it, not experiencing it - I hope she overcomes that one day.

I understand that it's humbling to be presented with a musician who's better at twelve than you (or I) will likely ever be. Her strength is her original work, anyway.

I wish I started playing earlier. How many professional musicians don't start playing until 18?

She's great, but how long has she been playing? I hate to be that guy, but age doesn't factor much into how well you play your instrument as much as time spent playing/practicing.

^-- what he said. Andy mckee has actually been playing since he was about that age - I'm mroe interested to see how she develops into the future.

Also I used to play guitar - I quit because I was living at home at the time and my brother worked nights, thus I always had to be quiet. Perhaps one day I'll take it back up - but atm I have too many things I SHOULD be doing - but am not doing.. :P

I completely agree with this. Her original stuff is very good though, her singing adds a lot I think.
