Lost Origin of House Music
The word going around the Internet is that this album, full of 808-driven beats and TB-303 squelches, was recorded by a Sikh fellow by the name of Charanjit Singh in India in 1982 - predating the Chicago acid house revolution of the mid-1980s. To put the year 1982 in perspective, the Detroit techno godfathers Cybotron released "Alleys of Your Mind," their first single, just one year before, in '81. (In 1982, they would release "Cosmic Cars," followed by "Clear" in 1983.) 1982 was also the year that MIDI, the "musical instrument digital interface," was introduced - but it wouldn't be until 1983 that the MIDI was actually being used; the first synths to utilize MIDI were the Prophet 600 and the Roland JX3P, both in '83. Electronic music as we know it now had some way to go.
I was literally shocked to find this. The fact that an Indian guy living in India at the time created House music before anyone else is insane.
The First Track of his album is surprisingly very good and very similar to the house we know today.
You guys have to take a look at this, it's very very interesting.

This is interesting news. I took a listen to the song you had linked and was taken aback at what I was listening to. I was shocked actually. I can definitely hear the Indian influence. Good find.

Weird things you do when listening to music
Any weird things you do when listening to music?
Personally, whenever I'm walking and I'm listening to music, my feet walk to the BPM of the song that's being played. Sure, they won't do that if the song that's being played is some 180 BPM Drum'n'Bass or 50 BPM Ambient or something, but usually when I hear a song with a BPM that's easy enough for me to walk to, I sub-consciously start walking to its beat.
I mean, even if I'm walking outside and I hear someone's mobile ringtone go off I start walking to its beat. It's so weird. What makes it even more weird is that I'm no fan of dancing, and heck, I don't even tap my foot when listening to music, so it's not like a force of habit. I only noticed it a few weeks ago.
Anyone else has any weird habits when listening to music?

I do the walking thing too, but whenever I close my eyes and really try to pay attention to a track that I like, I have really weird spasm in my legs and arms kinda like when you wake up from a falling dream

I usually just nod my head a lot, which might look silly to people when I'm walking down the street, with my Nikes on.

Walking to the rhythm of a song isn't weird
Sometimes when I'm home alone and I listen to something that kicks ass, I jump out of my chair and headbang until my pants are off (and my headphones are broken)

i used to listen to 120+BPM breakbeat when i was late for work when i lived in oslo. good times. but yeah, i always end up walking to the rythm of the music im listening to, providing it's a reasonable BPM.

Walking to music
I usually find myself locking on to the 128 - 140 BPM range. I feel really goofy when I'm walking down the street in time with some dirty bangin electro, and then I remember that I'm the only one that can hear it.
Best thing is sitting in your car at the lights listening to banging tunes, and spotting people walking down the street in time with it. Always gives me a giggle.

family troubles
My bro got into a fight with my mom over the phone, told her to "fuck off", then went and told my dad to fuck off. dad ran downstairs and starting destroying everything in my bros space by throwing it at the ground and stomping it. My bro ran down to apologize, and my dad threw him to the ground.
I ended up driving up. what the fuck. I think i'm going to sell all my shit and leave, fuck this. This is intolerable, no one should have to go through this shit. I didn't even say 1 word, I just stood there and watched.
they are continually having the same arguments over and over again, and its really violent with lots of yelling and shit. There are a million places I could live without any drama or stress whatsoever. these fucking people act in a way I cant even fathom anymore. I used to get swept up in the arguments when they would occur and be an active participant, now I don't get involved, but even without being involved, I want to get away from this toxic environment asap.

I have a spare guest room in my house in new jersey, you could possibly stay for a couple months, Idk; you'd have to talk to my dad. Good place too because it's 30 minutes away from new york.

All I can say is I wish you the best of luck. Your home situation does really sound shitty, and I can understand you can't stand that any longer. Good luck living on your own. :)
