Both, actually. Though I'd add you to the list as well. (And a bunch of others too, but I'm too lazy to think about that at the moment.

Wow I'm starting to wonder if it's only me over here who thinks F-777's stuff is amazing. To each his own I guess.

Oh no
I was just randomly reading the Audio Portal rules again, and a terrible thought dawned on me.
Are windows sounds considered copyrighted sounds? If they are I'm screwed.
Sorry for the sudden subject change.

You mean the real any amateur electronic music producer. It's sad how much I can pick out Nexus now. It's a real talent killer.

stop being a bunch of elitist twats - music is music - you either like it or you dont - and no matter how original you try to be - you're just ripping SOMEONE else off in some way shape or form at some point in history.
I've learned that there is mucis I like, and music I don't.. I no longer say "man he makes music just like every other artist" - because frankly - if you had heard that artist before everyone else started to make it - you probably wouldn't have that opinion. So to each his own.
also as for headphones - I had used sennheisser headphones for about 7 years. Well maybe 5 years - I think I used crappy headphones in the beginning - buuut really - you have to remember when making music - the better your equipment - the WORSE it is to produce on becasue while it may sounds great on your system - it may sound crappy on people with normal speakers, and normal headphones.
In the end listening is actually kind of irrelevant - it's knowing which levels to use - how to place things, and basically knowing how to produce - listening comes second.
For example.. I can make a song - and itll be nice and pumpking on my nice speaker set - but in fl stufio i can SEE that it's like .. +5db.. and I KNOW that someon with normal speakers is just going to hear crackling and distortion, even if it sounds great on my speakers because they have a better tolerance and whatnot.
now with headphones, I love them because I can really mess with the stereo field with them - they are naturally useless for bass - but htat is why I switch back and forth between headphones and speakers to make music - on that end of producing you can make stuff sound really great, and people with normal speakers and headphones will probably still be able to enjoy it, albeit a bit more limited.
In the end - equipment only benefits YOU - and it only benefits your music, if you are a good musician to begin with - if you are a beginner and think that getting high quality equipment is going to make you the best musician with the best sounds - think again - there is no magic formula or thing that can replace knowing what you are doing and being good at it.

in the end we make music for ourselves - those that cheat in making music only cheat themselves. While the rest of us get a wonderful feeling of accomplishment they simply piece it together like some tune in ejay.

Haha not in the world we live in at the moment, since people want to make money, so in order to do that they can't always make the music exactly the way they want. So in the end, some people make music for themselves, some people make music for others, and some people make music for personal gain. There isn't one answer. So i would be careful, you are getting on the verge of becoming a cocky asshole who think he knows more than others. And we all know that we don't need another one of those kinds of people :P

The reason i make music
I make music because its fun and is a good pass time. Its more a hobby then something i would do for a living. Even though i have become more convident in my music production. Been getting alot of good feedback. And i got some money out of it.
But if i can make a living out of it. That would be cool :)

Exactly. I never meant this to be come an argument lol. I just don't like how people say that F-777 makes trance. He makes dance. Period.
Just like TranceCrafter. Having a genre in your name that you don't even produce very much is stupid. It makes the average listener think " oh this is what trance is " , when really it is much different.

So imageline is making TWO new vocal plug-ins. With Vocodex, Newtone, and now Pitcher(all for free with FL studios next update) I think it's safe to say it's becoming one of the best investments in DAWs...some more vamping up of recording abilities and external controller settings and it will be le ultimate. I mean a program like melodyne or autotune cost more then fl studio does...
</bragforothercompanies>
man im glad i bought fl studio xxl when it was just version 6...150 bucks well spent!

I think theres a word for that... Dissimulation? Quackery? Sanctimoniousness? Hypocrisy?

NEW TOPIC FTW
In Search Of Sunrise 8 is out.... but this time Tiesto isn't in it. Its made by some guy named Richard Durand. He seems like a pretty cool DJ. Tiesto has been going downhill ever since Kaleidoscope came out. I don't know if he will ever climb back up it or not. Anyway, as soon as I see ISOS 8 in stores im going to buy it and give it a listen in my car.

Tiesto hasn't been going downhill, tiesto IS downhill.
Kaleidoscope was just a way of getting recognition again, Despite the not bad songs in it, I would have preffered an album by deadamu5 or armin van buuren.
In search of a sunrise has been great, but tiesto fun time is over, let the younger djs step in.

I think his INSOS 7 Asia album was AMAZING... then he spiraled downwards into an infamous shit hole.
Armin Van Buren is pretty awesome, but I havent seen any experimental trance from him. Tiesto put forth the effort into being original and experimental. In ISOS7, i believe, he makes a sort of "Oceanic Trance" experimental genre as I like to call it. IT makes me feel like im in an ocean dancing with the fish waiting for the sunirse. lmao.
I love Armins work though. I listen to him on AH.FM all the time. I want to go to one of his concerts one of these days.
I wonder how Richard Durand is going to do. He isnt really YONG but whatever I dont really care about their age. My favorite musicians of all time are between the ages of 20 - 80 ;)
