I see drumstep as more Drumnbass with a halfstep beat. This is my favorite drumstep song
Also, I had quite a bit of fun trolling the general forum with. If anyone is familiar with the Lavender Town creepypasta it helps.

If you're into drumstep and the rougher, heavier side of DnB, check out Dub Foundation. "Gunman" is a particularly wicked track.
Kanji Kinetic has some cool stuff too...pretty quirky tunes.

Blarg.
Haven't made any music lately. I think this is the longest block I've ever had and nothing I do is helping.
I think it's probably because I stopped caring about music and shifted my attention towards poker. I don't mean having a homegame once a week or stuff like that. I mean playing for money online and reading on theory every single goddamn day. It's my new obsession, I wanna get real good at it. I was always a casual player but I'm starting to get serious about it. I want to be a long-term winner.
What makes me feel like shit is the fact that I specifically enrolled in music courses in college to get better at what I do, but it's like I'm wasting that.
On the other hand...I'm having doubts about becoming an audio engineer. It's painful to admit, but I'm having second thoughts. Maybe changing from business to music wasn't such a good idea and I just did it to spite my father, I don't know.
/stupid rambling

I'm looking for music similar in style to that of Ken Ashcorp, and pretty much any other music on the AP. Needs lyrics. I'm trying to update my playlist with some great music, but I'm low on cash. What gold can the NG audio portal offer me? P

There are heaps of good songs on the Audio Portal that are worth listening to, you just have to find them :P

Yep i'll have to agree yet its still diffrint enough to be a subgerne. I am planning however to make a article or newspost explaining what DrumStep is in simple man terms :)

Determening Genres
I think it would be good if someone made some form of survey or app that people can use find out what genre their song actually is, what is which genre is quite unclear to me and probably others.

The problem with that is that there are so many factors involved, as there are so many genres in so many genre-fields.

i just want to say that I've decided to 5 bomb every single track that had no votes so far. So if you see a lot of 5 score tracks on your fav genre, i'm sorry but i felt these musicians needed an opportunity as well.

Well that's nice, kind of the opposite of what people usually do. Even then, it's prohibited to talk about 0-bombing, 5-AAgunning, or anything production related. You can show off your sexy studio setup or your sexy girlfriend or your sexy spongebob pencil. Anything sexy goes in the lounge.

The problem with that is that it's horribly biased.
That also reminds me there were some plans going 'round to build an all new guide to EDM that isn't as outdated as Ishkur's.
I guess it's something that could be implemented at TAP when more important stuff gets done, lol.

As biased as it is, i think its still a pretty decent beginners guide. And even though he seems to have a personal vendetta against some styles of EDM, i think its also supposed to be a bit tongue in cheek :)
I challene anyone here to deny that they discovered something new and cool in it the first few times they fired it up!

Playing Live
I just got done doing a 3 hour performance at Continuum Art Gallery here! It went great. Something about performing in front of alot of people makes you play better, that's for sure. I was even asked to come to the next event, and another event at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, which is pretty big. I'll upload some videos and pics soon, but man it was fun. I was also sick today, so I was really surprised I managed to not screw up. They also are letting me record in the main room if I ever want to, and the acoustics are orgasmic in there.
Pretty fun day

There are but it could still be done I think, if they just used the main genres and excluded some of the subgenres. It'd work kind of like the 20Q thing does.

That's quite useful. I've never even heard of some of those genres.

Raves n Such
Just woke up at the venue I'm setting up for my company's next big event tonight. Bringing in Forest Green and Psycho Bitch, as well as a professional laser group (bringing in a full spectrum high powered laser and a couple massive green ones as well =D ), and a few local DJs to round out the lineup.
Should be pretty friggin awesome. Also, tis in Springfield MO if anyone is within driving range and wants something fun to do tonight.
