I've missed this feeling
As you may know, I'm making this song for the Haiti album. Since there's sort of a deadline we set, I have a drive to finish it in time. The fact that there's actually a good goal to make music for is also extra encouraging. I haven't had this feeling in many months - where I'm close to finishing a song I'm actually proud of.
I think I'm back on track. If all goes right, I'll have more submissions in 2010 than in 2008 and 2009 combined, lol.

Yeah, and, ideally for electronic music, you'd be signing contracts song by song, rather than a binding contract to the label/distributor for a certain period of time.

The sites newish, so their/owner guy is trying to get a start up. A friend of mine received a PM and was very thorough in the questions asked of the site owner.
His response was surprisingly long and able to answer all questions in full. The contract with the site is quite loose / low impact on the artist, which meshes well with the site (so far).
Flexible contract / low publicity / income through the site. Makes sense. :S
So long as a greencards info isn't needed to get signed, it seems legit / payments are able to be automated via paypal.
I'm hoping its a legit setup.

Should have added on to that, sorry. It wasn't a spam email I can tell you that. And I had TWO lawyers look over the contract. And we negotiated to update the contract song by song to make sure all the liabilities are set. And it was a very flexible contract I might add; I can pull out anytime. AND I get 70% of royalties. ;) (assuming I get any royalties...)

Had a contract lawyer look at the contract:
This is what she said
"Please tell TMM43 that I wouldn't enter into this contract. I felt uncomfortable with the first paragraph where the company is only identified by name (no location, state of organization, etc). I felt even less comfortable as I read the clauses that very vaguely outline the rights (so to speak) of the artist. The contract really gives the artist no rights -- except the right to pay for this Company to take control of his music and to have the artist pay for everything.
Clause 26 really takes away any contractual agreement because no recording contract should be "subject to change at any time."
In short, this is a bad contract for any artist."
