funny you should mention that. As an IRC op it is actually YOUR responsibility to market the irc room and bring more people to it - so get on it!

aint noone is gonna get aids from sex. here's the transmission rates, straight from the CDC themselves
Estimated infections per 10,000 exposures to an infected source
Blood Transfusion 9,000
Childbirth 2,500
Needle-sharing injection drug use 67
Percutaneous needle stick 30
Receptive anal intercourse* 50
Insertive anal intercourse* 6.5
Receptive penile-vaginal intercourse* 10
Insertive penile-vaginal intercourse* 5
Receptive oral intercourse*§ 1
Insertive oral intercourse*§ 0.5
someone explain to me, with transmission rates this low, how the FUCK did aids spread to tens of millions.

I'm having trouble keeping my electronic music from being repetitive. Good songs in this genre manage to somehow captivate the listeners without changing the tracks too much. What am I missing?

Advice for Steak
So yeah, I never made a full song, but I am planning to. Anyway, I doubt that my advice will be useful, but read this. I hope my wall of text will make some sense, so here we go.
While listening to some songs (Non-AP), from certain groups, who were making music, in the genre you mentioned, usually had the songs split into 2 big parts, and the small parts were broken apart into other smaller ones. Usually 6 or so parts. You see, the "small" parts, consist of different pieces. Lets say we got 6 small parts, and we make 3 different ones. But we got 6 parts, so we just fill the "open" 3 parts with the same music, maybe somehow edited with effects. Well, the second "large" part from the two of them, should lets say, have 3 "small" pieces of it's own, and 3 "small" pieces from the first "large" part.
And in my opinion, the key of win is in how you place the "smaller" parts, so that the one who is listening doesn't get bored. You shouldn't do a repetative song, but you can use the same parts, it just depends on the time, place and how you present them.
Sorry if I didn't help and sounded like a guy, who got his nose in the wrong place.

oops..posted it before I was done..
anyway.....
have you tried recording you recording the beat? like just freestyle beat boxing the song? that helps me out keeping on track. I suppose if you're forcing a song on a simple thing maybe you can't think of anything to add? Mehhhhh...uhhh..what parts are most repetitive in your songs? The bass?

that is what the forum is for, discussing the creation of music, plus youll probly get more info for your problem. alot of audio people here dont frequent the lounge that much, so if you post a thread more people will more than likely help you.
