What about Mighty Putty, or the Hercule's hook? Or any other amazing invention he pitched.

Oh and Anthony Sullivan sucks.

Mighty putty is probably similar to any two-part epoxy in putty form. They generally work decently.

Can't say for most of the crap he sold.

With the large amount of celebrities dying, I believe this is the time of the Scouring of the Earth.

We are being left leaderless, and defenseless.

Without Billy Mays, who can stop the coming Armageddon?
The Age of Man is at an end!

We still have Tim Curry though. He can set things right.

People talk about not having a solid new member, yet I've been here since May.

Maybe I'm not recognized because I don't really post at all outside the audio forum.

Because, let's face it, politics and general are huge HUGE piles of shit most of the time. If not all of the time.

Another thing I notice is that I often see more users around here with 20 posts or less than I do with users 300 posts or more. Hmm....

That's because they realize that the Audio forums are too awesome for them. And then they go to the General forums.

Yes, I hear that the meal they serve you contains up to 50% less "dry" and "suck" than usual.

Which still leaves 50% more "dry" and "suck" than you should ever consume.

Overly conservative musical taste

I really wonder sometimes why people get it into their head that music needs a melody in order for it to be music. I'm getting a little flak for that in my latest two songs, which do not have melodies in them.

I mean, as it stands, with the whole ambient thing, and all the musical progressions that have happened since the turn of last century, I don't think we can be stuck making music in the same way forever, because it stagnates. I love all the old 'classical' music, and would love to write some music like that as well, but I know that it's better usually if you can do more things than just make a bunch of copies of Beethoven and get respect . I love Beethoven dearly, but I'd rather be EmperorCharlemagne than Beethoven, see.

What are your thoughts on modern musical conventions, or holdovers of older musical conventions?

Musical Taste

At 7/1/09 12:33 AM, EmperorCharlemagne wrote:

The only reason why anything is as it is in the music world is because someone centuries ago decided to begin dictating "order." Had things have gone differently, who knows. Everything would have changed. The only reason why people have standards when it comes to music is because they understand whatever it is they will. Regardless of what you think, there will always be other people to disagree with everything you have to say because they see the world differently. Had things of gone differently, music as we know it today could not even have come to exist. What you're starting to look at is a branch of quantum mechanics and any number of things could have, never have been, and might be on an infinite number of dimensions sitting right next to you.

When you start looking at it that way, everything starts looking a little more conservative doesn't it?

Ignorance: bliss. Get back to work ^_^
