Regarding the long and painful road to becoming an officially approved audio artist

At 5/26/09 02:27 PM, MiniRaider wrote: Option 4 is give up.

Do not give up! I can not stress this enough. You must try again and again, harder ever time. To give up is to abandon all hope, stay strong, don't panic and you will make it in the end good sir!

Dude, don't give up. It can be hard these days getting approved, due to the amount of stolen audio, annoying random shit, and unoriginal loop based music. The admins have to check to make sure everything is clean.

Amazingly when I first started it only took 3 days for me to be approved.

Ahh well, it's been 10 days now - just getting impatient as I have lots of beautiful(-ly horrible) music to bring to you's' earsz.

Oh, +1 to the techno-grind compo idea.

Maybe a .. "make your own cross-over genre" compo? List a bunch of genres, and you have to cross two...? :)

Hearing Loss

I have this thing in my ear, or, had... And it is like an infection type thing, and apparently it was something like a perforated ear drum. I couldn't hear in it for ages.
Apparently if I get water in my ear again it could come back. Pssh. Whatever.

Well usually a guy or gal(wich i doubt will ever happen) comes along with a contest theme and makes a thread explaining the rules. Then people start spamming there songs on the thread for that contest. Then the OP and the other users who signed as judges will judge the submissions. The winners gets awsome prices or a pat in back.

Young grasshopper, you should know by now that patience is the greatest virtue of all. The entire Zen philosophy is based on this principle, meaning that it has it's roots way back in teachings of ancient wisdom.

Also, you're dumb.

So, anyone ever hear of Gyorgy Ligeti? I think he is one of my favorite composers, and I only discovered him recently.

I have to say, his music is really something else, in the good way.

I actually find his stuff pretty inspiring.

Take a listen, if you'd care to:
Lux Aeterna
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgRZnsAgK ng

Lontano (this one is pretty cool)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l2OQbA3r7 8M

The way he works with clusters of sounds is quite transcendent.

And in many cases, after the judging and before the prizes....

I yell into a microphone and do a Radiogrounds broadcast. (Depends on the contest lol)

That sir, was a good one.

Wide Layout
So... It appears the consensus is split 50/50 of people who like or dislike the new wide layout for flashes. I hope we get something cooler for audio... but it will probably never happen ;)

Wide Flash Layout

Ew when did this happen? This is going to make my voting-on-but-not-watching-5-a-day just that little bit harder and more time consuming.

But it does look nice. And wow is it huge.

They should make it so when we go to the audio portal everyone's speakers get bigger, until the point it totally ruins their room and blows their ear drums.
