I can identify with that, at least to some degree.

So... I got Rocksmith.

After fumbling around to find my component cables for my PS3 (I use HDMI... which causes audio lag with the game it seems) so I could put my sound through independent speakers, I hopped into the game, guitar in hand... It's actually quite fun... if a little overwhelming trying to sight read moving, colorful tabulature to songs you've never heard before... But I could see myself benefiting from it in the end.

I'm kind of lazy when it comes to practicing guitar, I tend to skip over all the important stuff because it's boring... having flashy mini games catered to training the skills I skip over most of the time I think will help me out a lot.

...Only downside is, there's really not a whole lot of songs that I really enjoy... I've downloaded the A7X pack, Bring Me To Life by Evanescence (This song is much harder to play than it sounds it seems), and Redneck by Lamb of God (Which I could play previously)... But there aren't many songs that came with the game itself that I'm all that interested in...

Regardless, I'm finding it quite fun... if a little confusing at first trying to keep up with the movement on screen.

Well, that was the same for me. You'll get used to it eventually.
Also, in my opinion, the real downside of the game is the fact there is almost a hundred of downloadable songs, which you must pay 3 euros per piece (where i live, that is).

Oh, and good luck playing Boss.

cool piece, but a pain in the ass.

Yeah, I've bought a few songs already, but most of the DLC even doesn't really interest me honestly.

Oh, and good luck playing Boss.

I already have. Was certainly a little challenging, but I managed.

Well, i believe you were practicing guitar before getting Rocksmith, which wasn't my case.
As a total beginner, i was barely able to play Next Girl :p

Yes, I've been playing guitar for like... 10 years or something.... To be honest, starting out in Rocksmith almost put me to sleep... "These are tuning pegs", "This is a fret", "This is how you put your guitar strap on"...

I was mashing the skip button the first hour or so of the game to get past all the, "I'm assuming you've never touched a guitar in your life" bits. Skipped all of the technique videos as well.

I've been playing classical guitar for over 9000 years. I tried Rocksmith last week and failed horribily. I wasn't THAT bad even with Guitar Hero. I can play some of those Rocksmith Songs perfectly fine IRL, but not within that.. game. Brrrr..

Well, after all, Rocksmith was intended for beginners. And i must say, it did a pretty good job with me.
Sure, my play is shabby as hell, but i learned things i wouldn't have if i had tried to learn by myself.

I don't know if any of you guys are having this problem but, it seems that when I go to a random page it tells me that I have a new message + friend request...

...that I've already read and approved.

Any ideas about this?

I had received one PM this morning & replied to it but the '1' did appear a few times randomly on random pages. It vanished after one hour.

You can try closing and opening your browser again or just wait.

Or perhaps clearing your cache, but I didn't do that.

Some crack heads been squatting on the abandoned floor of my building for the last few months. I had to call the cops tonight after he bit my fucking hand. On an equally fun note, I saw two shooting yesterday. One was in front of my building. Two of the people I live with got shot.

Part of me is kind of amused at how tough things can be out here. I like to say that "the hard times in life become trophies later."

not sure if I'll feel that way if I get shot though...

I love capcom soundtracks. This may be irrelevant by now but damn, I love the original the best. They shouldn't have changed it in UMVC3.

On a side note theres this girl in my piano class, she seems interesting. Trying to figure out how to approach her. We usually have about 10 minutes of downtime before class, perhaps I can knock two birds with one stone and get everyone to introduce each other....

Is it a piano class, or a group therapy session?

Cause doing the above makes it sound like the latter.

There's 5 of us that hang out in the lobby, everyone else comes in right before class, every time somehow. I hang out with a friend of mine from middle school. I wanna make friends, and they all seem like the 'type' of people I usually hang around with.

I felt the same way when I was in group therapy... but the therapists told us we weren't allowed to make friends with the other people in the group.
