My PC is fucked up: Part 2

I'm definately NOT going to reformat my hard drive. I've dealt with problems like this before and I'm sure I can do the same now.
Ok, IE is working again, but it's extremely slow and whenever I open a new page there's a 30% chance that it'll be unable to load it, in which case I have to refresh the page. This is quite some progress, but it's annoying when you quickly need to check something.
Google Chrome is still fucked up. However I decided to de-install Mozilla Firefox and install it again, and for some reason the Flash Player now does work, so Firefox is gonna be my primary browser for the time being.

WMP still doesn't work either and I still gotta check my security settings. I've scanned my PC for malware and whatnot but other than some cookies there were no results.

Or you could just backup your shit, reformat and be done with it quickly rather than spending years figuring out what's wrong with your PC.

PS: I had the same problem, with my PC being fucked up and doing whatever it wanted. Turns out it was infected to the core with some random shit that didn't show up in security or anti-virus scans. But ya' know. I just reformatted and solved the problem.

I kinda hardheaded when it comes to reformatting but I kinda feel like reformatting is the same as 'giving up'. And I don't like that.
Also, Google Chrome is working again. Better than it ever did. Dafuq?

Suit yourself. All that time trying to fix your computer could be spent on making music or doing other useful things.

What does it do exactly? Is it something you throw on the master bus to see if your mix sounds good in any room?

Has anyone ever tried the 'dick in a hole in a bag of popcorn' trick in the cinema?
Turns out it actually works.

i'm confused

Well, i just thought 'fuck it' and tried it.
Went to the cinema on my own. I dressed with bright colours that say ''I'm a standard nice guy, you have nothing to fear from me.''
So i bought popcorn, went into the bathroom and made a hole in it into which i shoved my penis.
It was hard to do, i had to handle fast before all the popcorn fell through. But i managed.
I got into a seat next to two girls that looked pretty hot.
About 20 minutes into the movie i asked the girl next to me: ''Would you like some popcorn too? Although the movie is still... long.. it's kinda.. hard.. to eat it all on my own ;)''
She asked me: ''Is it sweet or is it salt?''
''Sweet'' i responded.
Then she said: ''Well darn, i only like salt, but thanks for offering.''

This frustrated me greatly. As a reaction i stood up quickly, which made all the popcorn spill.
I decided in the fraction of a second that, if i was going down, i was going down with a bang.
Grabbing the bag and shoving it off my manhood, i ran down the rows of seats until i was in front of the screen.
And i dropped my pants.
''BEHOLD'' i shouted. ''BEHOLD, FOR THIS IS THE TREE OF LIFE! YOU SHALL NOT LAUGH! YOU SHALL NOT LOOK AWAY! YOU SHALL STARE AND FEEL INSECURE ABOUT YOURSELF!''

Then security came and dragged me away.

Next time i will take salt popcorn. It would've totally worked if i had gotten salt popcorn.

The number of plugins you could use is endless.

I use Propellerhead Reason. You can not use vst plugins for that, only samples, but it is a very versatile program in itself, you can get any sound out of it you want, so you dont really need vst plugins. You can rewire it with a lot of other programs though, making it a very advanced plugin in itself. Also there are many sample and preset refills for Reason available. Just look at the Propellerhead site.

Another cool program by Propellerhead, that you can use as plugin is Rebirth. It is an emulation of the legendary Roland TR 808 drum computer. This is I think the most used drum computer of all time. It has a very characteristic sound, that does not sound like an acoustic drum at all, but most electronic drum computers try to sound like this one. Rebirth also has the successor to the TR 808, the TR 909. Not as characteristic, but nice if you want a different sound. It also has a double TB 303 bass. You can create some very phat synth basses with this one, as well as nice or weird sequences. It is also available for the iphone and ipad.

If you are looking for vintage sounds, that still work well in modern music, try finding vsts for a Moog synth, a Hammond organ, and a Fender Rhodes electric piano. Rumpelrausch Taips ZR3 and B4 Organ are good Hammond organ vsts. Lounge Lizzard EP 2 a good Fender Rhodes. Minimoog V and Modular Moog V are nice Moog vsts. There are tons more.

Symphony of Voices by Spectrasonics is still one of the best sound banks for choir and voice samples. Works well with symphonic music, metal, dance or anything you want.

A vast instrument sample library is Kontakt 5 by Native Instruments.

Extensive libraries for symphonic samples are ProyectSam Symphobia 1 and 2 (2 has no samples from 1) for general orchestral samples. True Strike 1 and 2 for percussion. Cinesamples Cinebrass CORE and or PRO for brass sections. Orchestral Tools Berlin Woodwinds for woodwinds. Orchestral Tools Orchestral String Runs 2 for strings.

AudioEase Altiverb 7 gives you superb reverb for many type of environments, including symphony halls, but also sport stadia, catherdrals, clubs, rooms, outdoor, digital reverbs or many other environments.

I hope you will find what you are looking for.

Prettty sweet release at work today

Today we've released easily the biggest thing yet since I started working at Digitally Imported, and I'm pretty stoked about it as I worked on it quite a bit. DI now (finally) has a webplayer, so you no longer need to download pls files to tune in. It also lets you explore other channels much more smoothly (rather than having to download a new file every time). The channel selector is a component that I alone built, so I'm pretty proud of it. Give it a go!

Needless to say, we're all pretty pumped about this, as it's probably going to make listener counts go up significantly, as the technical barrier has been lowered significantly. Yay!

also yay weekend!

A New Beginning

Hey guys, I'm starting a project called Viewtiful Life and I'll be uploading liquid/funk dnb type tunes.

The reason I am posting this 'news flash' here is because I am going to start a podcast called Viewtiful Life on Earth. You can use #VLOE on twitter for gossip about my podcast... lol

So there you go. If you guys want in on my first podcast, go ahead and send me your drum n bass songs to my e-mail address here: synzima@hotmail.com and I will feature them. (I'm not promising exposure, I'm just doing this because I'm trying a new thing here). Please make sure they are a full quality MP3 file.

I'll probably have the first episode up online on Dec. 1st. Any sites you recommend I should upload them on?

Here's to VLOE #001!!
