call you and treat you like shit? I just had the most ridiculous conversation with some dudes on the phone ever!
Just to fill you in, I had a credit card that I was paying on, and I ended up losing my job, living off that card's small limit, and then never had the means to make the payments they were asking for on it.
So this guy calls me, starts inquiring about it, which I ASSUME he's from a legitimate collections agency, since he has all my information, (but you never know these days), and he speaks to me COMPLETELY unprofessionally, like, he sounded like some 17 year old punk they found skateboarding outside the building and put him on the phone with me.
He started asking me all kinds of personal questions, which I refused to answer, and he said something along the lines of, "Well what can we do to make this conversation move forward?" I said, "Nothing. This conversation is going nowhere, I don't even know who the fuck is calling me right now." And he said, "Oh, so you dont wanna talk, so you don't wanna do anything about this account? Is that because you're from Texas?"

How does where I come from have ANYTHING to do with ANYTHING? This stranger on the phone with some unknown "company" just fucking insulted me because I thought he was a dick and didn't want to talk to him.
So I as I was about to tell him how I felt about him, and his manager took over the phone. He obviously couldn't handle it. I hope it was because of Q&A hearing his insults. Anyway the manager came on and asked me if I was currently employed, I said no, I just relocated so I can't pay the balance in full at this time. Then he started telling me to ask friends and family to give me money to pay for it, and I said I can't. My friends have bills of their own and my parents have 2 house payments, with little income left over. He then tried to tell me that I haven't even asked them for help with my debt, (which is fucking stupid to say to someone, and for the record, I have tried), and proceeded to try to tell me that "I'm not trying to make this work." and that "I can make all the excuses I want" and just flat out tried to make me feel like shit for no reason!
So I told him, "Listen sir, you make these phone calls for a living and I'm sure you get every excuse imaginable, so there's no point in even talking to you because you're not prepared to listen to a goddamn word I say."
And he said, "Fine, then I'll just have to report to the bank that you did not co-operate and this amount of payoff will not be available again."
But he's fucking stupid, one or another collection company will always be in contact with me trying to offer me some "spectacular payoff deal". I mean shit this debt was from January 2006 for fuck's sake.
Anyways, my day is ruined. Sup Newgrounds.
