Once, I was alone in the chemistry lab and broke a tap because I was kicking it. The whole place started to flood. The tap was at my knee level, so I decided I should do something to get away with this. So I ran towards a radiator and hit my knee over and over, so that it would leave a bruise or a mark (but ended up bleeding). So I informed the principal that I tripped over my school bag and destroyed the tap and showed him my knee. I got away with it.
I once punched a classmate of mine in the face and broke one of his teeth (I still -a decade later- have a scar from his tooth that got stuck in my fist), but again I didn't have to go to detention. He thought he could bully me like he did others, so he was a pussy and never accused me. His excuse for the lost tooth was that he fell.
I've never been to detention suckers. Besides, my school follows a different policy; doing stupid things will get you temporarily banned from going to school for a time interval proportional to how serious what you did was. My longest was one hour, while the maximum is 3 days or permanent.
