I'd love to do this. Just need to think of a place to take a pic.

I'll figure something out.

when more people have put their name down, i shall create a list with their location and calculate a route so the shipping isnt too far :)

Alotted time period. Should there be a set period of time that a user must obey and send back the monkey?

1 week should be sufficient to recieve monkey, get the picture, and mail him to his next destination

you'll get him all sticky :(

I wouldn't really bring him in. They only show pansy art movies anyway. I'll just pose across the street so we can see the marquis.

Count me in if it ever gets around to working. And for this issue, you could also have monkey make friends with animals from countries from all over the world. Those friends might even go on a trip themselves. Or maybe not.

At 1/19/09 08:34 PM, Tramps wrote: Before we go mental, posting monkeys like there's no tomorrow, we'll need a structure. Shreddy, I'll trust you to devise a chart of posters that will be receiving the monkey. Each person will need to have their name down and a tick-box next to their name. We can tick the box when they receive the monkey so we will know exactly where it is. We'd also need another 5 users in advance on that list so that the monkey-holder doesn't pick the user for themselves, as they could easily send it to their friends. Also, need consent from the current holder for postage and packaging costs. Don't get someone from Poland sending a package to China.

For this you could see in which country different users live and have each user mail to a country in it's vicinity. For example, I, living in Belgium could mail it to TehBoss in Germany or Nikenick in Holland or to some French or Luxembourgian user. In the worst case I could send it back to Britain. Or further to Switzerland or something. But I think that the biggest problem would be to get to and from America.

Perhaps Monkey could be sent to your local postal office with your name on it? But if Shreddy does his profiling decently, I think everybody can be trusted. It's something I'm also concerned with. However, I'm willing to take the chance.

WELL FUCK YOU, THAT WAS MY IDEA.

Man, even if I wanted to help out, I don't have the money to pay for shipping, or any way to explain to my family why a stranger mailed me a toy monkey that I have to mail to another stranger a week later.
Oh, and Shreddy, be sure to make a map that details the monkey's route, so we can all look at it and be all like, "frickin' sweet!".

Haha Indiana Jones style.

You know, I wouldn't put it past American customs to F this up for everyone. "What's in the monkey? They keep sending it back and forth...let's rip it open and find out, Bill."

I'd be down to participate... I live in Virginia so there's some stuff nearby.

But I'm unsure of how we keep track of who to send it to next... I mean, if you send it to me, who do I know to send it to?

yeah i'll take place in this event. i kinda live in N. wales so not alot of big attractions. So if you do send him to me it will be a little place that i like and is popular with people in the debighshire vicinity.
I think everyone it goes to has to write a little letter with not to long so that it can give an idea of why that place was chosen and about the area. Also i would be glad to help pay for the p&p as long as it will get somewhere around the world =D.

If you do this on Newgrounds, you obviously have to do it with a penicorn.

Otherwise, you are crazy.

I thought Penicorn too for a second, but the monkey is a nice, generic thing that is funny and works for everyone. You're right, though. If we get a Penicorn this could be much better, especially because we have to carry it around in public.

I like Monkey, though.

Haha, this sounds really awesome. I would love to participate in this if I didn't live in the USA. Maybe we could make it so you could mail it to other states along with the countries? Does anyone remember Flat Stanley? I remember it was popular in the late '90s where you would mail a paper character named Stanley to another place in the USA. Anyway, I look forward to see the conclusion of this project.
