SO I've just been wasting money on the games on the national lottery website and given it some thought... if people are able to hack all these many flash games on NG, both the offline and online ones... surely there are people capable of hacking these national lottery games and winning themselves nice amounts of money?

They are done in flash and I know the absolute shoodiest games can be beaten with an swf decompiler but im sure that the games on there are far better protected... but would it still be possible to hack them and cheat some cash?

How would it be done? (im not going to the effort of doing it, im just wondering and thinking maybe the national lottery could get royally raped here?)

Whilst the Flash program is the user-interface used, all the backend stuff, like processing details is all done by SQL and PHP. With a lot of sites finding exploits in this stuff is sometimes quite easy to exploit, but I think that a corporation as large as the National Lottery will have secured everything up. Either way, it's possible to use this to scan for vulnerabilities.

flash is used for interface and SQL, PHP, whatnot for proccessing. could be hacked, but not a easy feat.

Poke would in work, but I've not tried it flash games, but can't think of any reason why it wouldn't work. It messes with the RAM directly on your computer, so the swf wouldn't realise anything fishy is happening.

Considering I'm a web developer, When you connect to their FTP it logs you. Instantly, you can't bypass it. So considering if you tried it, you'd be turned in... your IP will get tracked and cops at your door.

In those things Flash does very little work, Its mostly the user interface because it looks pretty. but everything else is back end work on the server, which you shouldn't be in. And if you do hack your way into it, it's easy enough for you to be caught and get screwed up the backside for the magnitude since its no longer NG flash games. :D

You could always find some kind of cheat engine and modify flash's memory. I never tried it, but technically, it's possible.

While not looking at the actual page any flash application involving huge money probably does most, if not all, logic server-side and just use flash as a graphic application to print out the results and as a user interface to get input.

Nope, it would slow down getting caught, but not by much. maybe add a few seconds?

Your not subject to privacy when it comes to the FBI and a proxy. The proxy's server also logs you, but it's like a wire, you can't bypass anything (or hide) it goes straight from you to whatever server you contact.

lol, i've thought of this before
i've seen lots of these online casino games, and always wondered how badly they can get fucked

in any case, they can trace the money EXTREMELY easily, since pretty much everything that happens online is recorded, and you will most likely get bagged.

but there are other ways to cheat the system, such as 5 buddies all going into a poker room that only has 2 people in it, and then those five people all talking to each other on skype while they play, giving each other the card details and whatnot
