My old GH1 SG on the PS2 has lasted from GH1 to now.
Although I don't use it much now, since afterall, it's on the PS2.
So I imagine DJ Hero's peripheral is sturdy enough to last a while.

Anyway, the problem with the code isn't something I have any control over.

The problem lies in the code being used to pull the XBL data. It's not something I or khol created. Basically you supply a gamertag and it returns a neatly formatted, easy-to-use file containing lots of information about that user.

I figured if I was going to do it I'd do it properly. Took me between 7 and 8 hours but if everyone's happy it's worth it. Big thanks to everyone who's praised the new leaderboard or thanked me.

Regarding your problem, I have an idea. Pulling everybody's new gamerscore off Xbox.com was probably the quickest part of the job for me, only taking about an hour to get everyone's info. If I did that part manually every week and sent you the data could you put it into your script and run the update as normal? If that's possible I'd be happy to do it every week.

I'd have to see, I'm inundated with work at the moment so any tinkering with code would have to wait, but it'd be a nice idea, and in fact it ties in very neatly with what I've been doing recently in uni so would be good for me too.

I don't know a huge amount about this sort of thing but I used to use some automated reports in my old job and they always worked very well with data in excel spreadsheets. I could easily pull the new data from xbox.com every week and put it into a spreadsheet for you. Anyway, let me know if you have any more thoughts.

Ok I just had a look at excel and I can use the "save as type" menu to create either "XML Data" or "XML Spreadsheet 2003" so hopefully we can do this.

Also I finally got round to buying and playing Shadow Complex. Great game, especially for 1200 points. Played through the whole game and unlocked a load of achievements:

I don't think Just Cause is a bad game at all but it's certainly not brilliant. I found the gameplay fun (although there is too much disrespect to real world physics) and the game world is massive and beautiful, but it was let down by kinda clunky controls, a short storyline and incredibly repetitive side missions.

Bigger than GTA: Maybe, but overall it's much more samey than any GTA world. If everything was distinguishable and recognisable, like San Andreas but twice the size, it would be something to boast about. Areas of useless jungle and ocean aren't made any better by being bigger.

Better than Oblivion: Fuck off! Oblivion is one of my all time favorite games, Just Cause would be lucky to be in my top 100.

Best game yet on 360: Don't make me laugh. Just Cause was released on 22nd September 2006 in Europe and 27th September in the USA so I suppose they conveniently forgot about Condemned, Dead Rising, PGR 3, Far Cry, GRAW, Test Drive Unlimited, Hitman: Blood Money, The Godfather, Saints Row and probably a bunch more that I can't remember right now. And definitely Oblivion!
