I've cried during books a bit before. Usually only at specific parts that were especially emotional. But I just read Without You, and wow. I have never cried so much while reading a book. I cried through nearly the entire thing! I really enjoyed the book, it just brought up a lot of stuff I could kind of relate to I guess.
I also read Aquarius Revisited recently and it was a fantastic account of the 60s and key people who were influential in the movement of that time. I already loved Hunter S. Thompson, but I fell in love with Burroughs as well. Everyone mentioned in that book was just so awesome, even the author of the book seemed like a really cool guy.
Finally read Naked Lunch. I'd been meaning to for quite a while and expected it to be great. I was surprised to find that I didn't like it. But I kept reading it (reading it out loud brought out its beauty) and around page 50 I really fell in love with it. It was an enjoyable read and the style was unique and interesting. I loved it.
Either today or tomorrow I plan to start on Practical Ethics by Peter Singer and Created From Animals by James Rachels. Both should supplement my Ethics class. Another of Rachel's books is even required reading for the course! I already read my texts for the class, or at least skimmed them and I was pleased to see I'd read about every issue presented and was familiar with the people discussed. I have no excuse to do poorly in that course, haha.
