The reason i want to do this is to caputre movmentes and have the movie as a background when drawing frame to frame animation of something (like a dog running for example) And then removing the movieclip afterwards but having my drawings left
Isn't it possible to import movie files to Flash, and then put it on the bottomest layer, and then delete the layer afterwards? I think that would work

1. Download the movie to your computer
2. Import it to Flash (File -> Import -> Import video...)
Yes i know its possible to import videos to flash, my question was really if it is possible to download the movies from youtube so i can put them in flash..
Yeah, I think it's possible, but you need somthing for it to work.
For example, there's a widget on Firefox that lets you download movie files. I forgot the name though

it's pssible, but why would you do that? The audio gets all of sync, the file gets bigger and the video gets more chuncky

He's not planning on keeping the video in the Flash, it's just for tracing.

If you followed the guy's link you would of found a google search for sites that download youtube videos. Try to take in all of someone's info before dismissing it

It's already a .flv, all you have to do is download it.
a video on youtube can be done many ways. the easiest is downloading the video from youtube and implementing it like a regualr video, flash can handle a few types. its easier that way just download from a site or watch a vid on how to download. that ways its save dlocally but the flash file will be fairly large and you likly wont be able to upload here. we dont want to watch youtube on ng anyways i think so youll be fine in that regard as i asume your making this for like a blog or site or somehting
Here, converts to flv which can be opened in flash. good luck, thread closed.
