Well i like the texture one better, but you should have a feature for people who don't like that...
I like the overlay feature. It actually makes him look more realistic. It also gives it this nice drawing on a piece of paper look. So yeah, the overlay of paper.
OR, should I just texture the background and have the character solid colors? :)
i think the last one looks the best.
Sig made by me
Once again i'm falling down a mountain like a metaphor

Go with that one, its not to hectic or to plain, its nice :]
Grah i feel so unknown, SK8MORE god damn :/ EvanHayes seems like a much more serious name than sk8more,so i changed it.
I think just texturing the background looks the best
GAH!
A take you as a family guy fan. hehe. The second one looks like family guy. I think none of them look quite right. If any the second or the 3rd one. If you want to put a texture over the whole animation you either make it a style that will look good with the texture or you chose a texture that is more subtle. I think overall the texture is too out there...
This is my personal opinion. But being different is cool, so do what YOU think! hehe
Yeah, I'm rather skeptical about it, because I want it to look good, ya know? Okay, here they all are together in a row. I like the first since it looks nice on the background, and the character seems to stand out -- than I like the second because it kinda looks cartoony, than the third looks like it's drawn on paper -- so i'm really stuck here -_-
oh god, I forgot the photo. My apologizes :C
Sometimes (most times) the simplest is the best. People tend to want to things more complex just because they can. If you want to work with textures I think that the door should have a different texture from the wall. And the character is cartoony and doesn't go with a "trying to look kinda realistic" background. As to the one that is all texture-y I think that the texture is not subtle enough to pass as something that makes it better. It's too Out there, as I said before. The character is cartoony and clean with a rustic unclean texture. Doesn't go, in my opinion. So I'd have to say number 2 if the options are only these three. but what do you think?
Even before I saw your post about it the idea of background textured and character not was the option I was going to post. It really all depends on the style of the animation, the genre et cetera. But if the theme allows the use of a texture I saw just use it on the background and not the character otherwise it is too noisy.
.
I really like the more simple look now that I overlook it. It looks more natural that way. The texture seems to distort the whole animation a bit. Maybe, I'll just leave the texture out.
Anymore opinions?
So, I think I figured out a way. I think I'm going to just have the background clickable so the viewer can click it any time they want to flop back and forth. What do you all think? Here's an example, without any spoilers of the actual animation.
So throughout the whole animation, it'll be clickable -- or do you think that'll just be annoying?
A quite entertaining and good Idea. Thumbs up!

So, you think this is the route to go? You seem to have a strong input in this, and I appreciate that.
I think that it's the way to go if you aren't sure. In my opinion the version without textures looks better, but other people think the texture-y background works. Like this, people can choose their favourite way.
A thought:
By having the feature where you can choose it promotes it in a way but it distracts people from the main story in another way. It promotes it because it's an uncomun feature. Not many toons have this feature, and you'll have good review for that. It's quite innovative and works. But, if the story is very complex, people by getting distracted by this might not catch the whole story. It all depends on the importance and complexity of the story.
Anyway, I'm off to bed. Twas Nice sharing my opinions. hope to see it submited later.

Yeah. I was quite worried about the distraction of the viewers as well. But hopefully, it'll do a good job and people won't be clicking it constantly like a clickable pen :) Haha. Expect to see it in the portal tomorrow ;) This was the last touch up that I was a little shakey about.
Thanks for your inputs.
Hmm, sounds like a good idea to be able to switch through. Although having the whole screen as a button, is semi-annoying.
I would suggest having a transparent button in the corner, that when scrolled over it would show up, and it would control the texture on/off. That way it wouldn't disrupt the movie at all but it would still give the option of having it on/off.
Just my input.
