so i'm getting a new gaming pc (coming tomorrow) that my dad promised me as a Christmas present (i'm not a greedy asshole, it's the first expensive thing in a while). anyway i asked my mom if i could move the computer into my room when it comes, and in return i would let her use my laptop as the "family" computer (don't worry i took off all "teh pronz"), and she's cool with the idea. she really only wants to use the internet anyway, and doesn't need to use my new pc for that (that would be a waste). but my dad got all bitchy (i mean really pissed) when i asked him about moving it.
of course he couldn't come up with any valid reasons to not let me have it in my room, except for "your mother wants to use it to". so this got me annoyed because he knows damn well that it is a gaming pc and that you don't need all this good shit to get on the internet (i picked it out for me, not anybody else). so i am trying really hard to understand where he is coming from, but i just don't get his logic behind the whole matter. i know he's paying for it (my present btw), but it's a waste to put it up there and to not get the full potential out of it.
so any suggestions on things to say that might sway his thinking or not?
