I like all animals, and if people are going to have any kind of pet I'd always advise them to get a dog or cat first and foremost.

Cats just tend to be more selfish, looking out for themselves firstly and only. Dogs are loyal to a fault. Truly mans best friend.

Cats are both stupid and much harder to train than dogs. I'd love to see what would happen if the police replaced their dog squad for cats or if blind people decided to use cats instead of guide dogs.

Sting rays can function on land? Or, most likely in this scenario, carpet? Also, I assume the OP is talking about full grown cats, which are more developed than cute kitties.

Cats would not be best suited for such jobs, as each animal performs well on different things, although I fail to see how this makes cats more stupid than dogs. As someone already said, dogs are loyal to a fault, meaning that they are more like a man's object for manipulation than a best friend. But a cat, on the other hand, will usually wise up and leave your sorry ass or at the very least ignore you and avoid you, but that's neither here nor there considering the topic at hand.

Anyway, before more people jump down my throat, yes, cats can be very selfish, arrogant, and lazy.

Dogs are trained to go outside by their owners. Cats can be trained too, to use the toilet too in fact. A cat will go outside just like a dog as well if they are allowed to go outside.

I like both, with cats you can chill out and pet them and sometimes with dogs, with dogs you can play with them and wrestle with em.

They should make a hybrid with the loyalty and sociability of dogs and the intelligence and cleanliness of cats.
