-Prostitution
-Same sex marriage
-Polygamy

Why? Constitution says

Freedom of religion. All things not enumerated by the Constitution are therefore implied. Freedom of not following a religion

Freedom of expression.

Prove me wrong.

Same-sex marriage yes. Prostitution and polygamy, no.

#1: Freedom of expression has it's limits. For example, it's still illegal to murder even if you say "I was just making a point"

#2: Polygamy is not an unenumerated right. Those rights are marriage, eating, sleeping, the right to have children, etc. Having two wives is not a right, and neither is prostitution.

In that case you have caused damage and infringed apon their rights to freedom, life, and the pursuit of happiness. In these 3 examples it is a mutual agreement for all three, thus nobodies rights are infringed.

#2: Polygamy is not an unenumerated right. Those rights are marriage, eating, sleeping, the right to have children, etc. Having two wives is not a right, and neither is prostitution.

You just said "right to marriage". It doesnt specify in the constitution what kind of marriage. Thus plygamy is legal.

marriage is a religious concept is it not, if they're going to have separation of church and state, then they should have the state recognize it only to the extent that it's a civil-union, and that that religion can define the marriage however they want.

so therefore, banning gay marriage is unconstitutional.

it's quite ridiculous.

But the definition of marriage is apparently left understood as between two people, not between 3 or 4, etc. Some opponents say that it also is left understood as between 1 man and 1 woman.

The Constitution is too vague on too many points, mainly because the people at the Convention weren't gods. It all boils down to who is designated to interpret the Constitution: the Supreme Court.

In the case Reynolds v. United States, the Supreme Court said that polygamy is not a right given by the Constitution. That case still has not been overturned, and the Supreme Court recently refused to hear a polygamy case.

Yes, it's not like they're hurting anybody by doing it. There is a risk of spreading STD's, but people are making the choice to take that risk.

-Same sex marriage

Definatly, we're supposed to not have any discrimination in the world, but how can we say that when we don't let people marry whoever they want.

I also think that marijuanna should be legal. It's a lot less dangerous than cigarettes, so we can't say it's illegal due to health reasons. The only reason it's illegal is because the government can't earn tax money off of it, or so I'm told.

But you gotta realize that it'll have to follow a bunch of guidelines, like age consent, forced work, and some shit like that. Maybe established, legal, hostels that need to be under heavy hygienic and personal inspection, like STDs and age.

-Same sex marriage

Whatever rows your boat.

-Polygamy

I don't really care, as long as you have the enough resources to mantain the family and wives. Even the hardcore Islamic people set that rule.

To the moralfags who disagree with me:

Why is it immoral?

If you say because its what your religion teaches you than i suppose we should say piracy is moral because Pastafarianism says it is.

Also, has it occured to youthat your religion may be incorrect partially or entirely?

IF it desnt infringe apon peoples rights and does not restrict their freedom of choice, it shouldn't be criminalized.

It's legal here, and why not? But then, of course, if they catch women being forced into being prostitutes, that should remain illegal. Once it's legal it's better to control. Also, if it's to support a drug habit, then they should be arrested for drug use, not for prostitution.

-Same sex marriage

Well, I wouldn't say marriages per se. Maybe that should remain the choice of the pastors. But there should be a marital status for same sex marriages. Also, of course, this does not mean fake marriages (for passports and such) should become more present.

-Polygamy

Hmm, if it hurts nobody, maybe. Although, the benefits for polygamy should be toned down, so that no economical disasters can exist.

Freedom of expression.

These are wrong reasons, cause you can't have freedom of religion or speech run wildly limitless. Is it acceptable to purposely provoke violence or hate? Can people disturb eg court sessions by calling the judge a dick and keep shouting it all the time? Can you cause vandalism or hurt other people cause your religion allows that?

Having more than one wife. There are places over in the U.S. where they do this illegally and force women into getting married. The weird part is that they think this is good, apparently it's apart of some freaky religion they follow.

Prostitution is decided by the state government, that's why it's legal in areas of Nevada. Making prostitution legal in the entire US would conflict with opinions. Same thing with same-sex marriage. Although polygamy is part of religion, it could potentially risk somebody's security, which is illegal.

I agree with the OP about the three mentioned things that should be legalized, but drugs should also be on the list. The simple reasoning is that drug laws are very expensive to be enforced, drugs can be a new source of tax revenue, and that drug use is a victimless crime. The law should still prevent people from smoking in public and driving while high because that affects others, but just simply doing drugs should be legal.
