I wonder if our current president, Bush, in his 10 days left in office, is going to try to do anything at all to possibly boost his ratings, even by a little bit.
It's not like he'll capture Bin Laden
It's not like he'll bring peace to Iraq.
It's not like he'll fix our economy.
He won't be able to do anything like that in 10 days, but I wonder if he might try to do one redeeming thing in his last 10 days, sort of like a last hurrah.
What do you guys think President Bush will do?

He'll probably file some last minute pardons. I don't think there's any chance of him trying to do something good for America (his cronies on the other hand).

Yep, he pretty much has to resign himself to the fact that he will go down as one of the most unpopular presidents we've ever had. The best he can do is just push through some last minute favors for his buddies and hope Obama is too busy, not legally able, or too apathetic to try and repeal any of it.

Somehow, I think Herbert Hoover has him beat to the punch for the "most universally hated" award. Bush may not be liked, but that's nothing compared to being eternally associated with the real Great Depression.

That's why I didn't say THE MOST, I said ONE of the most. He's going to rank pretty high on the list I do believe, but I don't think he'll necessarily be number 1.

I doubt Obama will be able to wave a magic want and make all the nations problems go away since he's been dropped in the shit.
But then again, he knew what he was getting into.

Any Bush attempts to actually create/destroy/change policy would be immediately reversed by the Obama administration, so that's probably the main reason why Bush's last actions will focus on bailing out his cronies. You can't repeal a pardon.

I don't know how this happened, but there's actually a Hoover "Institution" at Stanford. You'd think they'd find a president, who, you know, was successful as a symbol for their free market ideology.

I'm taking bets that one day we'll have a Bush Institution.

You don't do stuff that raises your approval rating in your last week.

He knows how to RAISE his approval ratings? Why doesn't anyone tell me this?
Back to OP's question, what can he do? It's took him 8 years to basically mess up the majority of the country, what's he going to do in 10 days?

James Buchanan also has it pretty bad. He's one of our worst Presidents, and although he's not very well-known, he'll eternally be associated with the Civil War, but doing jack squat to stop it.

He could mess up the nation even more. I'm still worried that in the last few days he might invade Iran.

I sense a Divine Wind blowing on that one.
But we know he's likely to write a lot of pre-emptive pardons, notably for Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice et al.

LOL yea and then Jeb will appoint them all after they're wrongfully pardoned, as he gets to pick his incoming staff in 2012.

If it took him what, 5-10 days, to respond to Hurricane Katrina, I'm not concerned.

Is that even possible?!
Seriously, I doubt he'll make things worse at least, so I have some hope. It's obviously going to be really hard to get the country back to normal, but we'll just have to wait and see...
