It's extremely hard at first if you have never ice skated but you eventually get the hang of it if you aren't a pussy. And falling down can be fairly painful, especially if someone is behind you not paying attention and run over your fingers with the blades on their skates.

I haven't been ice skating since I was five. I think I found it hard, but then again, I was fucking five. I used to roller blade a few years back, so I'd probably be a bit decent at it. But once you learn how to balence yourself, it should be easy.

I used to go to an ice skating rink during summer camp (I live in South Florida) but I found roller skating better. I guess if you can balance and use roller blades then ice skating shouldn't be much of a problem.

God damn I hate ice skating. When you see people doing it you think 'oh that looks easy', then you go on and It's SO hard to keep your balance without holding something. Also, yes slipping hurts, but sliding around after slipping is fun.

Its just as hard as learning to ride a bicycle once you get good at it its a piece of cake, now skating backwards is hard. I am sure all Canadians can skate flawlessly.

The first time I went ice skating, I fell on my monkey bone, it hurt to sit down. Also, if you fall over, ball your hand up into a fist, because if there are lots of people skating with you, you run the risk of losing a finger or two, and I wouldn't advise that :/ Although, it is pretty easy to pick up, go round the edge at first and if you fall over, you fall over, just get up again and carry on.

From what I've heard, you fall a lot the first time you try, especially if you're heavy. I've never done it though, so I can't give you first hand experience.

Well, I went. We only stayed for a half hour, since one of her daughters started feeling sick. All I can say is that it didn't hurt as much as I thought it would.

i'm pretty good at iceskating, but one time i fell, and the spike on the iceskate went into my lower leg. muscle damage is not good for walking on and i needed crutches for a couple weeks

My dad cracked his head open ice skating, just don't land on your head when you fall. And yes it hurts, but not much.

It's fairly easy to pick up, shouldn't take you more than five or ten minutes. The first time i went i fell around three times but it doesn't hurt that much really. Just relax and enjoy it.

Ice skating isn't as faggy as roller skating. I prefer it, just because it's a lot less embarrassing than being seen roller skating.
And it does hurt when you fall, but the first time I went out, I only fell once your twice.
