Was anyone else, or did anyone else want(ing) to go completely apeshit on Microsoft today?(The whole windows 7 beta release supposedly around 1200 EST)For the first 2.5 million gullible people.
I checked for nearly 12 hours today(at work, girlfriends, home)for any updates, but none came to pass. All kinds of little taunts though, one I recall above all of them...
"Windows 7 beta available shortly! Please Stand by!"
Then a little note at around 1645 EST..Thanks for your interest in the Windows 7 Beta. The volume has been phenomenal-we're in the process of adding more servers to handle the demand. We're sorry for the delay and we'll re-post the Beta as soon as we can ensure a quality download experience.
Microsoft not prepared..what's new right?
I'm just hoping they soon realize the value of torrents, and serial key distribution via say..for the first 2.5 million people who registered after a certain time(automated of course)

This is only happening because Microsoft is still using their outdated server system, and not Apache.
They were just totally unprepared for today, I hope we get some kind of compensation like extending the beta period beyond August 1st.

Don't be so quick to judge Microsoft. That's 2.5 million people downloading it, with so many more trying to connect. That's a LOT. So that's just some server stuff.
I, for one, am very optimistic about Windows 7. I've been reading reports about start/shut down/loading times being VASTLY improved over that of Vista. Plus, Microsoft's awareness of Vista's poor hardware support at start leaves me with high hopes in that of fixing it.
It's not like Microsoft go "Ok, how can we screw over the user-base this release." People need to stop pretending that any large scale corporation is out to gouge people.
Yes, Vista was bad, we get it. It wasn't Microsoft's fault.

Well actually, Vista being bad was Microsoft's fault. They just didn't realise it was bad at the time. This time around they seem to have taken a smarter approach to the new OS, and hopefully will give people the things in an OS that we want.

I have Vista on my new laptop, so I really doubt I will use this upgrade. Vista does not suck for me... but all I do is get on the internet.

It always depends what is sucking for you... Vista's not bad, except that it's a fucking resource hog (40% slower than XP in average). And the only improvements are on the look and the security. That is why businesses skip Vista.
My signature was old so I changed it.
