Hi. I recently looked at the skateboarding section, and played all the games there. With the exception of "skate thug" (which was fairly simple), I didn't have much fun playing any of them. Most of them were poorly designed or drawn. So now I'm thinking of making a good, playable, polished skateboard game in flash. Obviously, I can't make it very realistic when only working with 2 dimensions, but I would try to make it playable and filled with enough interesting content to keep a player entertained for a while. The biggest focus of the game is customizable environments (Kind of like the "rigger" role in Tony Hawk's Proving Ground), and a good level editor. I might do something like Punk-o-Matic, where the editor outputs a code that can be loaded and shared with other players via the forums or a "user levels" list.
What I'm asking is: Do you think a game like this would be received well on Newgrounds? Would you play something like this, despite its obvious 2d limitations? Do you have any suggestions for adding to or improving my idea?
