Post in a thread and then leave without any intention of coming back? I've found my self doing this alot recently. Just wondering.

Half the time if I'm bored and I've posted in all the current threads that I've wanted to, I'll check back on some to see if I've been quoted and to see the progress.
I do it sometimes anyways, but only if I'm really into it.

I kinda wish there would be a system that would send you a message if someone has responded to what you wrote, instead of you always having to check it. More importantly, if the response is posted in a big thread, how are you gonna know about it, without wasting your time looking for it, yourself?

Sometimes. Other times I check back later to see if I have become remotely significant.

I usually check back in the thread every so often as long as it's still active. I just like to see what other people wrote, I'm not only coming back to see if I've been quoted. The only time I don't check back is if I get caught up in other threads and forget about the thread I had previously posted in. Then it drops to the bottom where I don't look very often, unless the BBS is going slow from a lack of users late at night.

So yeah sometimes I do even though I don't mean to.

I normally don't do it too much, unless it's one of those threads that you know is going to be locked because somebody asks a question and you provide them with an answer. You know, those threads where you direct them to another part of the website because they post in the wrong forum or something? Yeah, those are about the only times I don't come back to a thread.

I always come back to threads I've posted in, mainly because I look and see if someone replies to my post or if there's another interesting post I feel like I need to respond to.

Yeah, I do that too, still it won't be a very worthwhile reply in a Happy Birthday! thread or similar. Not much other to talk about there other than congratulating the user of choice.
