Okay, I know this seems really weird, but is there any sort of alternative to newgrounds where I could share say, music video's i've compiled? I have a music video 7 minutes long filled with my friends and I skateboarding, bmxing and a touch of nonsense here and there and I'd like to show it off to people, but as you can imagine, no video file format is exactly kosher with Flash, and besides, it'd no doubt be *well* over the 5mb limit..

You won't find a free site domain that will permit you to upload and host a file size of 5mb.. well you shouldn't. But if you can break it into five 1mb mpeg's then your getting somewhere... try Brinkster

Maybe you misunderstod me, i meant they made them popular enough so every 2-bit hack tries to make one with their parents camera. I have yet to see a decent skate film online.

Anyway, you will need to break down and buy some webspace. A decent host will run you about $50-$100 a year, which really isnt THAT bad if you all chip in.

The only other way is to get a free host and break up your movie file into a couple different scenes.

200 Proof- what type of camera and editing software do you guys use? I just bought a Panasonic Mini-DV cam awhile ago and i play around with Adobe Premier.

We have a few different cameras - everyone has a job, and everyone wanted one of their own because 'Everything happens when nobody has a camera there'. They're all sony though, mine specifically is a digital, a few of my friends are Hi-8..they use the same tape, but digital is clearer and takes up more tape faster.. and I use some reaally buggy program that came with my friend's camera[I do it because i'm the only one with slight artistic talent and a computer fast enough to run it], pinnacle studio 7 or something or other..I've messed around with adobe premiere, but it's way too complicated for what it's worth..I'm not exactly filming a hollywood blockbuster, you know?

Oh and for some reason, I just rendered it into a .wmv, and the quality is overall better then the mpeg, but with a much smaller filesize - 11.5mb, actually - but it cant really be compressed anymore[winZIPping it only took it down to 11.3mb...], so yeah.. I have a broadband modem, btw.

I know what you mean, i used Windows Movie Maker a couple times and it almost seemed TOO easy. I'm going to stick with Adobe because i've heard you can do a lot of cool shit with it once you get used to it.

But the thing is if you just pool some cash together you can start an entire site dedicated to skate videos. You know, people could mail you submissions, you could do news stuff on skate tours shit like that.

you know, that's not such a bad idea...when i get my job back[i only work a summer job at the moment :-x], i might think about doing that. but not skate videos. bmx videos, because i like it better and its what i do :-x. i dunno, i guess it could be all-encompassing.
