I Am New To Flash...please Read!!!

Ummmm my name is Marcello, I am 12 and I got Flash CS4 Pro for Christmas and it's a bit confusing to me, so I need some pointers on how to work flash so I can make some submissions and I need ya know, people that I can trust to help me towards being a good drawer, and like I said, I'm 12 and I got it this christmas so I don t have the drawing pad yet. So, I need some help on using the sidebar tools and how to actually make some animations. I also need some advice for drawing with the mouse and like sometimes, the mouse get stuck on the pad and when your trying to draw diagonally and your just drawing downward. PLEASE REPLY TO THIS IF YOU HAVE EXPERIENCE USING FLASH!!!!!

there will be some posts telling you to take a look at some tutorials (which is not a bad idea) but i'd say you should try out some stuff by yourself... but as i said, tutorials are a good idea.

and here is an important note: PLEASE, please: never spam newgrounds with crappy stuff just because you're too lazy to practise! there are enough stupid little kids on NG which do that kind of spam. you can become very good if you practise and since you got the newest flash version you should not waste it!

1) New to Flash? Read this first!

2) No one really cares how old you are. Look up your question on Google first, then come back.

3) Don't ask how to do everything. If you know how to draw then you should know how to draw on the PC. Mouse pointer = Pencil point.

4) Take your time and write properly.

That's what I thought at first too. But don't let that fool you. The bone tool is amazing, especially if you're getting tired of FBF animating. It produces smooth and great looking characters. The decu tool, what can I say? It makes a pretty cool vine animation for you in a few seconds... awesome. The 3d rotation tool. At first glance it looks like a free transform tool. However, combine it with some cool graphics and you actually get a 3d animation. The spray tool, not much, but does come in handy.

What the hell are you talking about? He was being perfectly helpful. We do get a lot of people just like you who have little or know clue about using Flash, so it gets a bit frustating after the 100th time a thread like this has been posted. I don't want to discourage you, all of the links posted in this thread will be very useful, so check them out. And don't forget that Google is your friend. A simple search for Flash tutorials will bring up hundreds of helpful sites, so go check them out.

Good luck with learning Flash, and don't give up, seeing as you got Flash for free, whereas most of us had to fork out hundreds to buy it. Consider yourself lucky.
