What are some of the most UNDERRATED bands you like, and think deserve more popularity. This thread is for posting good bands, but I also want them all to be obscure, not often heard of. Example: System of a Down - Bad/Snake River Conspiracy - Good. As the thread starter, I will begin.
> Mindless Self Indulgence (Punk, Metal)
> Dimmu Borgir (Black Metal)
> Moonspell (Metal)
> Snake River Conspiracy (Techno)
> Winds of Plague (Metal)
> Oingo Boingo (Punk, Pop)
> Future Leaders of the World (Punk)
> B52's (Early Punk)
> Dead Boys (Punk)
> UVERWorld (Japanese Punk/Metal)
> The Faint (Rock)
> Taking Back Sunday (Punk)
Let's hear some! (And if you want people to check out the band, I suggest putting in the genre right next to it.)

For someone reason I think I saw this this exact thread before, with a few of the same bands listed....

Also, lol at MSI, Taking Back Sunday, and System of a Down

MSI, underrated? Every scene fag in my school loves them, and that's a lot.

Also, Mushroomhead is the best band ever, and 95% of the people i've asked don't know who the hell they are...

Every one has heard of System of a Down, Taking Back Sunday, and Mindless Self-Indulgence. And they are overrated if anything.

I think Blitzen Trapper are underrated. Furr is the best album I've heard in a good long while.

UVERWorld isn't underrated, they're a great band and tons of people know them... especially people in Japan and those who watch anime...

Powerman 5000. No one I know, knows why they are.

I personally consider Porcupine Tree, Mazzy Star and Blackfield very underrated.

Dead On Arrival. I just read "I, Shithead" by Joey Keithley. It was a good autobiography. Their music was really good, especially their album Hardcore 81.

Okkervil River, Optimus Rhyme, Cunninlynguists, Bloc Party.

Lots of people I know have no idea who any of those groups are.
I really should hang around less Metalheads.

Yeah! Woo! I've actually heard of those two! :) Haha, can't say I feel the same way about them that you do though, in my eyes their music was pretty dull. Anyway, most older bands are less listened to now, and many of the bands from other countries are pretty unknown in other countries, but I really can't think about any underated artists at all . . .

Possibly Yellowcard? They had Ocean Avenue, which was a good album, but after that everyone forgot about them(At least everyone at my school).
Also possibly Fastball. Another good album, then forgotten.

That is retarded, they're very well known, any one with even a litle musical knowledge know of the group.

Same for SOAD

> B52's (Early Punk)

hahaha, what? They're mostly new wave and pop rock.

For me it's Acid Bath, only two albums from the early 90's and no one knows of them, yet they're brilliant and the heaviest of groups I've ever heard. Every other metal group pales in comparison to them, and it's a real shame so many metal heads think they know shit, yet never heard of these guys.

I Agree with you on Dimmu Borgir- Some others, who deserve more Popularity, are;

Rhapsody
Kamelot
Cryptopsy
System of a down - (god, yes)

A few others, that at this moment in time i cant be bothered to name because i'm a lazy asshole.

Ratt.
their album Out of the Cellar is the definition of 80s

and i also think soundgarden is not well enough known. to a lot of people who've known all the grunge bands, soundgarden is probobly the best, but the least well known.
