I haven't a huge amount of experience with Digg, but I unbderstand most of the basic concepts (and I'm a fairly quick learner) and I have used the site a few times before, plus I see this as an excellent way to promote NG's finest and get some talented artists more exposure. Here is a link to my profile page, feel free to add me as a friend (I've already added a few of you that I know already).

The person who should decide whether or not you can join is Wade but he doesn't post much here. And he once said that anyone who wanted to join could do it if he/she linked to his/her Digg profile. So I suppose you're accepted to join, and I see you've already added Tom and Wade as your friends.

So, ehm... Welcome!

Thanks Ismael! I've gotten to work already, and dugg Inhuman Way and Between Fear and Death, two great metal songs from the Audio Portal. I also noticed that Waterlollies had yet to be dugg, so I took care of that as well.

Gone a bit quiet around here, hopefully things will pick up a bit more soon, maybe a few more members would help.

Also, just a few minutes ago I dug the GunChest and Fallen Angel series, so go and digg that if you'd like.

Yeah. Also maybe we could talk about random things instead of posting just when we submit something to Digg. As long as we keep digging every now and then, I think it would be OK.

Within reason I suppose so, as long as we do not allow the thread to become a spamfest lol.

Damn, sorry about that. I did a search and came up with nothing, then when I was submitting it it wasn't on the list of possible duplicates. Oh well, I'll have to be more careful in future.

It may be a good idea as well to digg the actual series pages for the best on Newgrounds (Madness etc.) rather than digging the individual flashes one by one. It would save a great deal of time and hassle.

Of course. But I don't see any problem in talking about stuff like any other club does :)

Oh yeah sometimes things don't appear in the possible duplicates. And it wasn't on the search because in all searches digg automatically looks for stuff that has been on the frontpage. When you're in a search, you have the option to look for "all stories", "front page stories" (custom), and "upcoming stories". Be sure you set this to all stories next time ;)

And about submitting series as a whole instead of individual movies is not a bad idea.

The composer was already submitted to Digg 1 year ago. However it's not very popular (In more than 1 year no-one else digged it, it just has 1 digg), so I think it's OK we digg the new one :)

A great submission, by the way.

I love it personally for how the artist incorporates art through flash, music, and philosophy.

Yes it's one of those movies that you don't see everyday. And it's great in every way: music, art, story, and whatever thing you can think about. It actually makes you feel sad :(

I don't think anyone has posted this link yet:

http://digg.com/search?s=newgrounds.com&
submit=Search&section=all&type=url&area=
all&sort=new

If you bookmark that link and check it regularly, you will see the latest pages from Newgrounds to hit Digg. The one thing I ask is that you only Digg links that are presented well (some people have typos and lame titles or descriptions) and only Digg stuff that you think people on Digg would actually like to see - so no user pages or other random parts of the site.

The goal should be to get NG some proper representation on Digg, for things such as the daily or weekly best submissions, and not have people on Digg get sick of seeing a bunch of half-assed NG links spamming up the joint.

So check that link regularly and Digg up the good stuff. :)

No problem. Also, I just thought I'd mention that I just uploaded the Mortal Kombat vs. Street Fighter flashes. You can find them here, here and here. So get digging :)

Welcome joabos and Alpharius120, the more Diggers the better. Also, just so that this isn't a completely pointless post, I submitted Aether to Digg. I think that as a club maybe we should check Digg to see if the Best Movie/Game nominees for the Tank Awards are up there, and if not digg 'em ourselves. After all, we're trying to get the best of NG's stuff dugg, and those are the very best from 2008. What do you guys think?

It's a good idea! Aether has been submitted already, but hosted on other sites. I submitted Pandemic II to Digg. I searched for some time, and I found lots of things, games hosted on other sites, a video and some other things that have nothing to do. So I think it's the first time than it's submitted.

Later I'll submit more (I don't want to Digg everything in a row because it would be too much).

Yeah, the Digg search can be a bit inefficient sometimes. When you're doing a search, be sure you choose "all stories" instead of "front page stories".

I was going to Digg something but currently the site doesn't load. Does anyone else have this problem? Maybe I just have to wait a little.

Hmm, it's working fine for me, maybe it's a problem with your browser, or perhaps your connection is acting up a bit.

Maybe I just have to wait a little.

Probably the best idea, try again in a few minutes.

It's working now again, and I've just submitted Karoshi:Suicide Salaryman :D

Also, I found a good and effective way to know if something has been submitted already. Just put the url of the NG submission in the Digg search, choose "URL only" (or "title, description and url") and "all news". To explain it better, I took a screenshot. It seems to work, I tested it with a few submissions.

That is also a good bookmark. One question though, say we do use the search bar and it does come up with another entry, how old does it have to be to be ruled "outdated"?

Well, I wouldn't say I'm the right person to decide this, but I think it would depend on the amount of Diggs of the old one.

Just to name 2 examples:
-If you find something really old (lets say several months or even years) and it has just a few diggs, I'd say it's OK to make a new one because probably the old one didn't got any attention.
-If you find something which has many diggs (50, 100 or even more) probably it made it to the Digg front page when it was submitted, so I'd say making a new one wouldn't be right (and it may be against the Digg rules). However we could digg the older one.

However, I can't provide a specific amount of time or Diggs, I just don't know. So I'll just say "use common sense", because really I don't know.

Cheers :)
