There's no doubt about Blaze-Heatnix winning the award for being most knowledgable about video games. I mean, he posts in every other VG message board! I'd have to dissagree about the Wii being the worst console. It just isn't the best for hardcore gaming. For family fun, Wii's good.

Dobio won absolutely every user category, usually by three times the vote of the actual winner. DasUberCow for PS3 fanboy was the closest, with about a half of the Dobio votes. That leads me to believe most of the people that voted weren't really regular posters or didn't care enough to put much thought into it. Pretty sad.

The only category that I tallied (the user awards through best DS game) that Dobio didn't win was best shooter. It was still pretty close though.

To be fair this is the first year of the VG forums and it is far less active than general forums.

Perhaps next year will be better. Or it goes the way of general and people voted for whoever they did the prior year.

Best 360 game, overrated and game of the year were actual games. I think just about everything else Dobio won.

Perhaps next year when the regulars are more settled in it will be a better out come.

I'm confused if that face is directed towards me for not voting for you or if you're simultaneously calling SMC a jerk while giving him that face. In any case, both you and SMC tied for second place. You both had 3 votes and ZimZap had 4. The best part of the entire voting thread was TehreTard getting one vote for 360 fanboy.

Believe me, I'm right there with you on that one. I hadn't ever really noticed him before he got a couple of votes. After he got a couple, I went through quite a few pages of his posts to actually see if he'd posted in the VG forum. Yeah, he's been here since the beginning. I guess if receiving this award means he won't make another one-line thread asking us what we think of _______ game, it'll be worth it. Blaze had 5 votes, SMC had 4, I had 4, BBM had 3, and BatDan had 3.

The amount of people that abstained probably skewed the results pretty badly for the user awards. It didn't take too many votes to win any particular category.

I honestly expected Guitar Hero: World Tour to be better than Rock Band 2, but after getting both games, I can definatly see why everyone likes Rock Band 2 more. They're both great games, but Rock Band 2 is just simply better in almost every way.

It had good online, but everything else seemed lacking. I also didn't like the motorcycles and trick system, they both seemed tacked on. I havn't played any other racing games this year, so I can't really say if anything else is better.

Metal Gear Solid 4

Crysis: Warhead definatly had the best graphics, but I'm not sure if it would count seeing that it's an expansion pack and not an entirely new game.

Multiplayer:
Super Smash Bros Brawl

Personally I think that Rock Band 2 is better for multiplayer, but this is also a great choice.

XBLA/PSN/WW:
Castle Crashers

Mega Man 9 was my favourite downloadable game, but I probably would have liked this more if I actually had the chance to play it.

Worst Console:
Nintendo Wii

Yes, I agree that the Wii was the worst of this year, but that dosn't mean it had a bad year. There were a lot of great games that game out, just not enough to compare itself with all the other consoles.

Game of the year:
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

I'm a huge MGS fan, so it makes me sad that I still havn't played this game. I don't feel like buying a PlayStation 3 right now, but maybe I'll buy one some day.
