Hmm..
Well, in my short experience I've learned a lot. The tracks I'm working on right now utilize every aspect I've learned so far. Good mastering, wise use of percussion, variation and stuff.
You say you've been in the music business for a long time, so a 'writer's block' will eventually come. It's inevitable, you run out of ideas and beats. I found the best way to get some inspiration is to listen to other people's tracks. Always listen to music. You'll always get the 'Hey! That sounds pretty nice, I could do something with that!' feeling. Not that you should directly copy stuff, but you get the idea.
Experiment in other genres. The more you know on music, the more you can mess around. Make hybrids, that is *always* a solution.
On the technical side, try other BPM standards, other mixer assets, instruments and more. Buy and install more VST's etc.
It's all the same - step away from what you're used to, and search for the unexpected. You can find inspiration everywhere, from your living room, to the park and even in your dreams.
Start up whatever program you use, click a random instrument, 'randomize' it, and make something. It doesn't have to sound good or even decent, just do stuff. Eventually you will find a solid beat, and go on with it.
That's all I have to say. I hope you'll be back to making music soon! :)
