Gut a boar? I searched google, but I found nothing useful. I want to learn because I want to go hunting and their is a place near me that lets you pick a weapon(Rifles, shotguns, muzzle loaders, bows, pistols, and knifes) and hunt wild boar but you have to gut is yourself. I have an idea with skinning it, but not gutting it.

Can anyone help?

I think its pretty much the same as gutting a fish, slice open the belly from chest to groin and then remove all the soft organs such as the intestines, stomach and lungs ETC. A Boar and pig is very much like a human on the inside, so it wont be that confusing or insane. The head gets cut off as well, because i think there some something in the throat that is not eatable ( i cannot remember well ).

First you slit the throat to spill the blood. Then the method depends on what organs you want to leave intact and what organs you couldn't care less about.

Now how is it asinine? to gut a boar you really need to know how to cut out organs, what is and is not eatable, do you know how?

Ask your local butcher for more detail but:
After skinning cut open the belly peel open both sides remove organs, simple but undeniably disgusting.

Use a gutting knife to slice open from the belly, remove all organs that you would not want to eat. Wash of the meat and throw away the bones.

I'd recommend you to hang the boar in a tree by the hind legs, the proceed to open the belly and scrap the insides with something like a knife.

Basically, you slice all the way around it's ass, then pull the lower intestine out and TIE A KNOT IN IT. This seals the lower intestine, which is full of shit. Then continue that hole up past the genitals up to the rib cage, pull out all the guts, and tie ANOTHER knot in the digestive tract right above the stomach. BE CAREFUL NOT TO PUNCTURE ANYTHING, ESPECIALLY THE BLADDER. The intestines and bladder are full of piss and shit; you DON"T want to get any of that on the meat!

Once this is done, slice the animal's throat and hoist it up into a tree by it's hind leg to drain out all the blood.

Remember, the trick is to cut as little as you can; if you accidentally puncture the bladder or intestine, you have have just ruined all the meat!!!

This man speaks the truth. I remember one time as a kid I watched a pig being killed the old fashion way - stabbing it with a knife in the throat to the heart and let it bleed to death. Then when they were gutting it, they were very careful not to puncture the animal's intestines because it would stink like shit and ruin the meat. Oh and they also cooked the blood into something that looked like a chocolate cake. It was fucking awsome.
