I would definitely say PS2. It has way more (and better) games.

I would say that PS2 has the GTA games on it, but now that they are on the Xbox...

Fourtunately, I heard somewhere that all future GTA games will come out only for the PS2 and stay on the PS2.

GTA on X-Box? thats new to me. xbox has a lot of games which arent on ps2 and vice-versa but i think the x-box may have the upper hand with a lot of new hardware still to be brought out. And it is definetly better in the multiplayer gist of things

Games such as PGR2, Top Spin, Shenmue 2, Halo, JSRF, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Midtown Madness 3, Rainbow Six 3, Star Wars: KOTOR... to name but a few...
Not to mention the strong line-up of AAA games still to come next year! Next year is definately the last for PS2, look at what it's got next year: GT4.... and... er... exactly.

Get an Xbox, especialy if you have broadband, Xbox Live just shows how much better games can be when playing many people from around the world... :D

Playstation hands down... Though Xbox do have a few personal smash hits like JSRF and Morrowind

Xbox, one, better graphics, two, better games, three, fasterloading times, and four, more features, not to mention all the Xbox Live games. Xbox easily wins.

Alright heres how it goes....

X-box:

You can play with up to 16 different other x-box consoles.

Has an actual hard-drive in it so you don't have to waste money on stupid memory cards.

You can save your own music into the hard-drive so then on some games that support user music you can listen to it during your game.

4 controllers.

Way better graphics.

Way better games.

And alot of other stuff.

Playstation:

I would've never gotten one if I knew that GTA was coming out for x-box.

And the whole system is pure crap compared to the great console X-BOX!

The GTA and Vice City release on the Box happened at the same time as the double release on PS2 but the Box got a graphical update for both games and I think they even added extra missions.

The PS2 version of the GTA compilation is just a compilation. There is no improvement at all to the game.

The X-Box version of GTA 3 and Vice (Which I bought yesterday to replace my PS2 versions) Has a graphical update, lets you play your downloaded music on the radio and loads a WHOLE lot faster. Nothing that makes the tightwad game buyer jealous for getting the PS2 version.

I have gamecube and my two brothers have playstation 2 and xbox. Only one is mine but I still get to play all three if I want.

We still have all our old stuff too. A Sega Genesis, which nobody plays, and an old Nintendo, which barely ever works anymore, are still at my dad's house. At my house, we have the three consoles (gcn, ps2, xbox), and also a Playstation, Nintendo 64, Sega Dreamcast, Super Nintendo... man, too many games, not enough time.

This topic has been repeated far too many times already. These are the main points:

1) XBox has fewer games and fewer quality games. PS2 has more games and generally a low quality, but still lots of great games.

2) Broadband has been fudged up by both companies.

3) Good original games for XBox -

Halo
Dead or Alive 3
Project Gotham

4) Good orignal games for PS2 -

Jak 2
Ico
Zone of the Enders 2

5) Good games for both -

Sonic Heroes
Timesplitters 2
GTA Box Set

Depends on what you want. Better potential, go for XBox. More choice, go for PS2.
