Playstation or Xbox

There has been a lot of saga around the Xbox, Playstation 2 consoles. A few have said the graphics are better on Xbox and vice versa but i want to hear you're opinion.
What is better overall:

It depends on the gamer.

I own neither, but I'd prefer having a PS2 because I feel it suits my gaming needs better. The last system I bought was the SNES - PS2 allows me to play not only this generation of games, but also the previous generation from the PS1.

Also, the game selection (mostly Final Fantasies and other Japanese created games) of the PS2 interests me more than things like Halo.

The actual power of a console can be impressive; but I'm not looking to own a powerful paperweight, you know?

So yeah, completely dependant on the gamer. There's no right answer, but no wrong answer.

Well I'll say playstation cause if you want to play games like sports or anyother games that can be more fun. But Xbox is more into online kinda thing. Me I wather get both cause the PS2 has so many games I want to try and Xbox to but there's surtent one's I like though.

PS2 for me, but I can see the appeal of the X-box. It definitly has the upper hand in the internet multiplayer arena. But in an area that only has dial up, that dosnt matter much. Plus, Final Fantasy. Need I say more?

i have both. they are great. play station has better rpg games, but x box has got better shoot um up games like halo, and sports games r maby a little better.

My friend burned Halo for me although it didn't work, although i heard it is pretty good . I sure am looking forward to ffx-2

even though halo's on pc, its still a great reason to get an xbox or buy it for xbox. upgrading your pc to play a game like halo will cost a lot more than just buying an xbox system.

The main reason I got an Xbox was because its got its own memory unit. I didn't feel like buying Memory Cards and all that crap. And I hate the people that say the Xbox controller is too big. They do make smaller controllers. But it is moot to me now, because my brother got a PS2. So I now have both of them. So yeah...

Im lucky too, to have both...The PS2 has better range of games and the x-box has Halo...Its a tough one, but why little bro just got about 30 new games for his x-box so im still undecided, as yet.

Well I own all three so there is no conflict of interest. X-Box is certainly a superior machine in terms of power (The guys at White Wolf studios told me it would be the only system able to handle a console port of “Vampire the Masquerade : Bloodlines” since it will run on the half life 2 engine) but that won’t mean shit until all the nice shiny exclusives start hitting next year. Sony is a gaming whore and will make any game they can get a licence for but at least that gives them an edge in variety........ I say it’s a tie unless the Box starts getting more exclusives that are worth a crap. Personally I have heard and seen good things about “Dead Mans Hand”, “Fable”, and “Ninja Gaiden”. All of this plus the rumored sequil to the wildly popular “Knights of the Old Republic” and were talking about a serious lead in the exclusive real for next year. The Box really needs to pick up the slack since there is only about a year and a half left till the new systems come out.

Because I spen enough on games on my PS2 and if I bought an X-Box it would run my bank account dry!
Plus I think the X-Box is just a slow computer to run games only.

You may think it’s slow but like I said, the guys from white wolf don’t think any other console could handle their next game. Loading time is a bitch on the system because all the parts were made by separate companies and there is a bit of translation that needs to take place between components. The cube has the fastest load times because it was developed entirely in house at Nintendo.
