i'm surprised at how little time everyone is spending on their entries. correct me if i'm wrong, but don't we have a little while to finish these?

theres only so much time you can spend, plus it's better to do it all in one sitting than over a few because you sort of lose the enthusiasm that you start off with. just because its done in 1 4 hour session it doesn't mean its worse than if it was done over 4 1 hour sessions.

I'm not sure if this was asked yet or not, but are we allowed to use previous art? By that, I mean, art that wasn't necessarily made specifically for this and was made in the past. Old work pretty much. Or MUST it be new art?

haha im about to sound like a bastard but yours is a poorly drawn, chain smoking fish swimming past spongebob and patrick, who are on fire underwater, its just spongebob fan art if anything, and there is no shading, the colours dont even change direction when they get to different parts of the fish (fins etc.) the tongue is just awful. Dude, that's really fucked up. I mean, you don't even know what my drawing was. Maybe if you read the description alongside my picture. And Spongebob & Patrick were backround pics; I pm'd the judge and he said it's ok to do that. It's pretty hard (for me) to do sshading and details with colored pencils and Sharpie. Your submission wasn't great either, but you don't see me judging every single nook and cranny. And a dysfunctional potato peeler? I think I'm the onlyy one who completley hand-drew the image, and if I'm bored, I may make another pic. You don't have to be a douche. And saying: too harsh? is just mean and unfunny. Look at your own pic. You need some improving too. And eeven though it's ok, that doesn't give you the right to make the other entries feel insulted

Hmm, I've found that things change when you look at them the next day. IMO, a work done in four sessions, rather than one, will probably always look better.

I made this really kick-buttocks, it's so awesome that it has a crab claw for a tongue, paper lizard in first grade art class; I always thought it would make a great pet! Just don't catch it on fire! >.<

I'm not sure what you mean, but if you mean just taking the colour straight from this site and pasting it in my drawing, it's what I've done.

on a separate layer fill it with #25272d (I'm pretty sure that's the bbs color since I use it so much hence memorizing the code)

In the past, we've allowed old work if it was updated or modified in some way. To be honest, if it's something we've all seen before, it probably stands a less likely chance of winning. You can certainly post it, but if you're in it to win it, I'd say make something new.

Just because some people made their backgrounds the forum color doesn't mean everyone has to! :P

I think this is gonna be the final thing, I'm just gonna post it here first to perhaps get some feedback etc. before it goes in the other topic.

He's supposed to be white and is gonna stay like that, I'll say why when I do the description :)

Meh, the first thing that I noticed is that the slime coming out of his mouth looks flat, but a little extra texturing should take care of that.
