Well this encouraged me to actually draw something.

But I think I know exactly what's wrong with mine:

The spikes
The shadow of the spikes
The gums look like lipstick, lol.
Too small

Feel free to tell me if I missed something on this list.

It took me absolutely forever, but I finally inked my drawing. My pet started out as an otter, but it looks a lot like a kangaroo right now. It was heavily inspired by the Okami art. What do you guys think? I got a long road ahead of me though, I'll post my base coloring and shading as soon as I'm done with that.

Just some concept, it may not even look like this!

I was kinda wondering... do you have to use colour atall? and do i have to mutate it, i have an awkward looking chicken but its just dodgy looking not mutated - plus i dont have photoshop. as for the post with the shrimp thingy... wow thats quality!

I am new to newgrounds as a memeber, but a long time fan. I am an animator, so my drawing and coloring skills where a little rusty. I liked this challenge for it gave me a chance to use Photoshop again and my Wacom Cintiq. It looks better in hi resolution, my lap top is set at 800x600 but the wacom is like 1260x720 something like that.
Anyways enough of the technical and story telling, I came up with a pet that I could command with an implant, but would be able to smite all other pets (hoping I would win) lol. It almost sounds like an RPG. His name is Gregor. And this is my first submission as a member.

i think it looks visually different enough. i'm sure all of our entries look similar to others, there are only so many combinations of animals we can do when we all pool from the generic bases of lizard/dog/fowl/rodent/etc

IMPORTANT!!! Artists , if you have an idea for a pet you might want to hurry up with it. Why? Because I was almost done and had too start over because I saw someone post a pet that looked almost just like mine. Then this other pet acted the same way as my pet so Ive been back to the drawing board twice.

My pet is fiercely loyal and solar powered so you don't need to feed him or clean up after him because he doesn't poop or piss.

This is my third pet so far.
