I personally enjoyed Oblivion more. The traditional fantasy world was more fun for me than the barren, lifeless wasteland. I realize that it makes sense for Fallout to have a very gray, unvaried environment, but it just wasn't as fun as Cyrodil. Also, the real-time combat in Oblivion felt way better, though VATS was a cool idea.

i havent played oblivion but i do agree that the wasteland is very dull and boring, plus it was way to large

fallout 3 is pretty sweet i guess.......sort of.....kind of......a bit?

i think a hardcore rpg would be like baldur's gate or morrowind (the combat/magic). fallout 3 isn't really HARDCORE hardcore. it's pretty easy to get to level 20

That's the point. There was a war going on for like 200 years so I'm pretty sure that the world outside the Vault is going to be pretty barren. However I think Fallout was better than Oblivion, because of the future setting and how you can get guns and stuff.

You know this is my signature 'cuase it's got my name on it.

Its okay, and a good buy, but not the best.

20 is the highest level? There is an update for this, but until then I am very upset at this.

Very few variety in enemies, or their difficulties. I played yesterday just walking around to fort constantine and I must have killed 40 things, but it was ONLY yao guis, mr. gutsies, and radiscorpians.
Maybe 3 raiders, and a group of 5 talon companie mercs that were very hard to deal with.

Final battle toward the memorial is cheesy as hell. You know what Im talking about, with the robot. It was just not creative at all.

What is it, like 12 quests? And no real way to keep a good track of side quests. They all just get filed away in your notes.

Choices were very black and white.

Can't play after end. Even if you are evil.

Some more complaints, but i dont feel like typing them. Its a good game, and I might play it later, but certainly not the best.

I can't exactly tell that, but I am sure that Fallout3 isn't. It didn't pulled as much, too much wasteland I guess. The gameplay was okay.

You ignored what I was saying. I know that to stay in context with the situation, Bethesda had to make the setting a wasteland. That doesn't change the fact that the variety that Bethesda offered was more enjoyable for me in Oblivion. Best design does not always mean the most fun.

Well since you were being sarcastic (the second part of your post lead me to think this...), allow me to just say that when you reach a certain level certain enemies stop coming. Im a level 20 and so no mole rats. So its not a matter of total enemies, just when they are available.

At first I thought, "Oh, there's really not that much to this game. Only so many quests, a low level cap..."

Then I realized my playtime was over forty hours...

Yeah, I was surprised to see my playtime was at 24 hours in only a few days of actually playing the game.

Yeah, but the same thing happened with Oblivion, but to a much greater degree. I've done just about everything in Fallout 3. I've finished the main quest, done every marked side quest, and am in the process of getting the last two trophies. Still my playtime is under 40 hours. With Oblivion, I had already cracked the 100 hour mark prior to getting deep into the main quest.

Hardly.

The entire game could have been presented and tied together better. It just doesn't feel right sometimes.

And I'm also going to point out how much of a god awful piece of unplayable shit Morrowind is in comparison to the other 2 games.

Fallout 3 is a pretty fun game but it's not the best game ever.

In my opinion, they could have added more optional quests

Well I have to agree FallOut 3 is good. But I like harder games.
Like Oblivion, Diablo II, Baldurs Gate etc...
Because in FallOut 3 you can kill almost everything in one shot!
And how the hell can a sniper bullet rip someones arm off?
Seriously not enough realism.

I think its the best RPG released recently (In the past few months) but I definitly don't think its the best RPG ever, I still and probably always will prefer Oblivion over Fallout 3 probably because it is alot bigger with ALOT more quests than Fallout.

lol? Fallout 3 was quite lame. It was fun for a while, but it was just a downgraded Oblivion. There was nothing new, but shitty guns. Oblivion ftw.
