I'm aiming to finish more than three good Flash submissions in the Year. I haven't submitted anything for months, even if I have started over six Flash projects since then. Only two of my current projects seem like they're going to be finished soon and they're both platformer, they're bound to be using the same source code too, I'll just be working with different animators. Both have been looking for programmers to help them out for a while now, so I'm pretty glad for that, I might not have to do much work in order to submit multiple applications! Ha. I wish you all a Happy New Year.
I look forward to all these new additions to Newgrounds. I found Newgrounds by chance and I always thought how poorly advertised it was outside of animators, programmers etc.. sites.
This year I intend to get back into C++, with the release of the new C++ standard (can't wait) it should be good.
Yet another year. 2009, eh? I'm still writing 2007 on my dates.
This year, I hope to be in few collabs. I'm in the mood to be in one.
I usually frequent the VG and collaboration Forums. If you find me anywhere else, I'm lost and can't find my way back.
Happy New Year Tom and the rest of NG!
My 2009 resolutions are to:
- change job
- animate and draw more often
- get into school
There are a few other more personal ones, but I can't bother to explain.

I'm in. As soon as I get my school project out of the way, which is my first game in Flash, I can focus on more stuff I've wanted to do for a long time. Hopefully my work load will stay minimal, so you can see a lot more of me!
Visiting Newgrounds Since 2003
Well, I hope the site can only improve in the next year.
Maybe instead of paying ridiculous cable bills, people could watch better stuff (cause TV's basically dead now) here!
Happy New Year Everyone!!! (first hangover of the year) hope this year will be great as the last!!
I love hunting for Blam points!!!
My goal this year is to become the best Plantain Frier in the universe.
My resolution is to start some flash series! And to get front page, because my flashes are VERY unnoticed.
Wise words Mr. Tom, good 2009 to you and to everyone.
Heeeeeeeeeeey I'm SkoolCool, mexican animator and member of laSALSA.
:D :D :D
Happy new year everyone!!
I all most died last night.....
Despite all of its flaws, Newgrounds is still the best place to submit animation if your goal is to get it seen and judged (and not just because animations in .swf files look so much better than the formats that other sites use).
Case in point: I recently submitted my first film both to Newgrounds and to DeviantArt. I was just as unknown on NG as on DA, yet it got over 8000 views on NG and 18 on DA.
The one thing slightly marring the experience was that the people who initially vote for movies in judgement seem to be a very different crowd from the typical NG visitor, as evidenced by my film's rating jumping by half a point after it was front-paged (at first it was about 3.64, not high enough to win a daily award).
Still, I don't know of a better site. But if there is one thing I would wish would happen to Newgrounds, it would be for more people from more varying demographics to begin visiting it. A more diverse audience will only help artists, by providing them with feedback from more viewpoints.

The 2008 collection is looking good so far and I look forward to seeing it finished.
So what are YOUR goals and resolutions for 2009?
lol youtube stuff isint "stupid ass" becuase on youtube you can get alot of things off of newgrounds but not too much.......
My NG New Years Resolution.
1. To Submit 20 Submissions.
1.2 To Get Better At Drawing
2. To Get A Daily First By My Self
3. To Get A Weekly
4. To Place In An NG Contest
5. To Make A Game
Some might be outlandish, but it's a goal I am setting.

I hope to make at least 3 great games this year, all 3 being collaborative projects. If its possible, maybe more but I'll see how this turns out.
I also plan to change to AS3 by the end of '09.
