When a lancer is peppering you from across the map, and you only have the standard weapon set, the pistol is the best due to the zoom.
My personal favourite is the Longshot (Sniper). I can use it in close quarters and the distances, so I believe that is the best gun for any situation.

My personal favourite gun is the Torque bow or the longshot, the worst is easily the standard pistol or the ink grenade.

I love the Longshot, but the worst would have to be standard issue pistol. However, that Gorgon pistol (I think that's what its called) is pretty useful.

The pistol that shoots 8 round bursts. That's the one I'm talking about.

For favorite gun it's a toss up between the Lancer and the Gorgon Gun. My least favorite gun would have to be the sniper rifle cause I'm more for medium to close combat.

I like the lancer, shotgun, and the flamer. not really into that auto pistol thing (gorgon?) and the ink grenade is only really good when stuck on someone, making them a human death ball.

tha snub pistol isnt that bad but my fav pistol would prob be boltok cause of tha perfect reload makes it faster.
least fav would have to be longshot cause wen u aim it moves 2 much wen ur getting shot .

Thankfully, the GEARS 2 guns aren't as useless as the GEARS 1 guns. But the lancer is the best.

It's very balanced for any situation due to ammo capacity, damage, accuracy, and well, that damn chainsaw. Just need like a longshot or boomshot to balance out it's weaknesses and your golden.

The worst? For me it was the torque bow. Took too long to charge for too little a result, especially if I missed. But you can contribute that to my inexperience with it, so, :p

The Gnasher is definitely the best weapon. I think the Gorgon pistol is overall the worst.

I like using a mix of the torque bow and longshot....i dunno they can both get headhsots and i have gotten to lvl 39 on horde on hardcore with the two so i like them.

Best gun? It's a tie between the Longshot and the Boltok pistol. The Boltok, even if it's fire rate is slow, it can kill an enemy with a few shots.

Worst gun? The Hammerburst. Even if it's way better than the Hammerburst in Gears 1, it still sucks.

The Scorcher was pretty satisfying the first time I used it, but it's usefulness varies on the situation.

The best weapon overall would probably be the Hammerburst, as it's stronger and more accurate than the Lancer, with a quicker, albeit less satisfying, melee attack.

The worst weapon is the Gorgon Pistol.

Worst weapon??? probably the boomshot or gorgon pistol. they are both either useless or over powered.. the best IMO would have to be the gnasher shotgun. So many noobs get creamed when i play. even after the updates. i can take on 4 to 1 noobs on a public match on a decent host.

the worst weapon is the standard pistol - its just a peice of shit. for me, the best is either the shotgun due to its high power and effectivness against boomers, the lancer due to its chainsaw, or the hammerburst because it compromises long-range(ish) and powerful gunning well.
